Lorsqu'Alexandre Courtès et Marc Teissier du Cros m'ont proposé de composer la musique de la série « Au service de la France », il s'agissait de rendre hommage aux musiques de séries télévisées des années 60, et spécifiquement à celles narrant les aventures d'agents secrets telles que « Mission impossible ». Comment refuser ?

Following his debut EP ‘En clair-obscur’ and a series of singles earlier this year cementing his place as a rising name in the world of cinematic soul and funk, Hamburg’s finest cinematic soul artist The Offline releases his debut album La Couleur de la Mer.

THYLACINE is the scientific name of the Tasmanian wolf, a species that became extinct 70 years ago. A precious word that French musician William Rezé has chosen to tame so as to incarnate his progressive and vaporous electronica. Each individual track is imbued with a singular flavour and reveals the breadth of the artist’s cross-influences: from repetitive music pioneers – such as Steve Reich or Philip Glass – to John Zorn’s jazz experimentations and Massive Attack’s trip-hop. THYLACINE’s music combines the cadenced and melancholic techno of Paul Kalkbrenner with the aerial melodies of Moderat or Four Tet.

Dusty Fingers is the name of a series of compilation records of songs that are widely admired as breakbeats collected by Bronx DJ Danny Dann the Beat Mann. Some of the songs featured contain "open breaks" which are solo drum passages which enable DJs to easily transition into them. These are also attractive to producers, who loop or rearrange them to create new compositions. Following in the tradition of the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series, the Dusty Fingers records contain an eclectic range of musical styles: mainly funk and jazz, but also including soul, rock, disco, and pop. Many of the songs in the Dusty Fingers series have been sampled into new musical compositions, mainly by hip hop producers. Popular songs that sample songs from the Dusty Fingers series include "Guilty Conscience" by Eminem, "Find Your Wealth" by Nas, "Rowdy Rowdy" by 50 Cent, "Show Me What You Got" by Jay-Z, "Daydreamin'" by Lupe Fiasco, and "Dr. Carter" by Lil' Wayne.

François Thuillier was born in 1967 and belongs to the new generation of tuba players, renowned for their knowledge, inquiring minds and inventive style and known for playing a wide range of jazz and improvisational music with symphony orchestras.

Music Box Records is very proud to announce the release of L’Incorrigible / The Incorrigible (1975), directed by Philippe de Broca (a long-time collaboration over 30 years) and Va voir maman, papa travaille / Your turn, my turn (1978) directed by François Leterrier. These two soundtracks are available for the first time on CD in expanded editions with a new sequencing and a new sound mixing. The scores written for the movies of Philippe de Broca, whose qualities were long unknown to cinema enthusiasts and even to amateurs of the music of Georges Delerue, always oscillate between irony and tenderness. The score of L'Incorrigible is light, always ironic, never redundant with the image. The music for small orchestra takes tones sometimes of a detective movie, sometimes Andalusian, sometimes bucolic. A piano version of the love theme Tendre Marie-Charlotte played by Georges Delerue is included in this release. The music of Va voir maman, papa travaille (directed by François Leterrier) contains a romantic “modal color” characteristic of the work of Georges Delerue during the same period. This score is enhanced with several “pop-rock” pieces which sends back to what Georges Garvarentz, Michel Magne, Michel Colombier or François de Roubaix would produce at the same period. For Va voir maman, papa travaille, the CD offers a complete 30-minute score.

La historia imaginada por Ollivier vagando por los desiertos de Asia, tiene algo de "obra clásica" pues su personaje central, Rosa, y su historia tienen algo de universal e intemporal, de haber ocurrido en cualquier parte del mundo e incluso estar ocurriendo ahora mismo. Cualquiera puede reconocer a los personajes que circulan por la taberna de Rosa y, a lo peor, reconocerse incluso a sí mismo. Rosa es la mujer cuya vida está condicionada por la sexualidad masculina.
