Fairport Convention are an English folk rock band, formed in 1967 by guitarists Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol, bassist Ashley Hutchings and drummer Shaun Frater (with Frater replaced by Martin Lamble after their first gig). They started out influenced by American folk rock, with a set list dominated by Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell songs and a sound that earned them the nickname "the British Jefferson Airplane". Vocalists Judy Dyble and Iain Matthews joined them before the recording of their self-titled debut in 1968; afterwards, Dyble was replaced by Sandy Denny, and Matthews later left during the recording of their third album. Collection includes: "What We Did On Our Holidays" (1969) Expanded Remastered 2003; "Unhalfbricking" (1969) Expanded Remastered 2003; "Liege & Lief" (1969) Expanded Remastered 2002; "Babbacombe" Lee (1971) Expanded Remastered 2004; "Rosie" (1973) Expanded Remastered 2004; "Nine" (1973) Expanded Remastered 2005; "House Full: Live at the LA Troubadour 1970" (1986) Reissue 2001; "Heyday: BBC Radio Sessions 1968-1969" (1987) Expanded Remastered 2002.

F.R.David (real name: Elli Robert Fitoussi, often also credited as Robert Fitoussie) is one of the now classic HI-ENERGY artists of early 80s. This French artist born in January 01, 1947 in Menzel Bourguiba (Tunis), and currently living in Paris (near St Germain des Prés) released many songs in pre-MODERN TALKING era. His personal "trademarks" are his sunglasses and his guitar (a white Fender Stratocaster). Many of us think of F.R. David as the singer of his smash hit Words, which sold 8 millions records accross the world, topped charts around Europe in late 1982 and hit No 2 in Britain in spring '83. Its eventual UK success was caused by its exposure on BBC TV's Top Of The Pops. The disc was featured on the first edition of a special Euro-slot incorporated in the program. The song was a catchy, slightly plaintive mid-tempo ballad sung in a slender, high-pitched voice. Indeed, such was Monsieur David's singing style that radio listeners all over Europe thought the single was by Madame David until seeing him. His voice resembles voice of Thomas Anders from late MODERN TALKING. Actually, F.R. David had several songs that became acclaimed hits. Another Mega Hit by him "I Need You". has been done in similar style as "Words". Speaking of "Words", this track was remixed in 1991 and released as MAXI-CD on MINT Records (Index # 879-701). This Maxi CD had three remixes with updated sound to Italian House. They were good but in my opinion the original sound was better. In 1997 "Words" was re-released in progressive genre.

Two complete Rockpalast TV shows from Germany (1998 / 2008) plus a bonus concert from 2002, 12-page booklet. The Rockpalast performance of June 21, 1998 at the Loreley is a significant example of the first international phase of success. It was Tito & Tarantula's third concert in Germany and it shows that their musical reputation did not crumble to dust in broad daylight at all. At that time the violinist and mandolin player Lyn Bertles gave the band a more folkloristic touch. That and the simmering mixture of blues, rock and Americana with Mexican influences put the German crowd under the same spell as the shady spectators in the famous movie scene…

This set was compiled from the British labels Pye, Piccadilly, Transatlantic and Immediate, so is necessarily restricted in what it includes, yet such is the abundance of Beatles covers that there is plenty to enjoy in this eclectic compilation. The covers are presented in Beatles date order, although it does not follow that the actual covers were recorded in that order. The tracks from Let it be precede those from Abbey road. There are also a few songs that the Beatles wrote but did not record themselves, one of these being Step inside love, a UK top ten hit for Cilla Black, but here covered by Nina Baden-Semper, an actress best known for her role in the seventies TV series Love thy neighbour.

In 1994, he released his first album La dernière Année (The Last Year), which contains the hit song Sur la Route (On the Road). He won a Victoires de la Musique award in 1996.
De Palmas released his second album Les Lois de la Nature (Laws of Nature) in 1997. The album was less successful than his debut album, probably due to the dramatic change in his style. He was in the slumps for 2 and a half years, until 2000. That's when Jean-Jacques Goldman restored his confidence and wrote a song for him titled J'en rêve encore (I still dream about it).
De Palmas composed and wrote 10 of the 12 songs in his third album Marcher dans le sable (Walking in the sand). 2002 was the year he was reborn as a star, as he won the Victoires de la Musique and the NRJ Music Awards, while playing more than 180 concerts. His songs even crossed the Atlantic, when Céline Dion sang his hit song Tomber (falling) in English, titled Ten Days. At the end of that year, Live 2002 was released on DVD and on CD, to commemorate his great tour of 2002.
Two years later, De Palmas returned with his fourth album Un homme sans racines (A man without roots), a more intimate album with less music, but still in the same melancholic style. After having problems with Universal, Gérald de Palmas is going to come back in November 2009 with his new album of which the first single is expected to be aired in May
