Elegance and passion are the outstanding qualities of Hungarian jazz pianist Mátyás Bartha, and he recorded his second album “From This Moment On” in trio format once again: "As a pianist, you really want to play in a trio," he believes, "because you can't hide behind a wind player." Bartha started playing music at the age of eight when he discovered his father's organ on his own. His parents recognized his talent and gave him piano lessons and a piano. He discovered jazz when he was thirteen.

From This Moment On is the 2006 CD by Canadian jazz pianist Diana Krall. Released on 19 September, 2006, this combines two editions of the CD, with an exclusive track found on the edition sold at Best Buy stores and the other at Target stores. Since the LOG's were exactly the same for all but the last song, the lossless version simply includes both songs within the folder so if you wish to make a disc in either way, you can. All songs are gathered together in both the lossless and MP3 versions.

"From This Moment On" is an eleven-song collection that captures the Canadian-born sensation in full swing, in great company, and at the top of her game. Recorded with her quartet and the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, it may also be her strongest, most cohesive release to date. Clearly inspired by the Big Band Era, the music mixes Krall's golden intimacy with arrangements that often channel the spirit of Sinatra or Nat King Cole. Many of the songs are traditional jazz standards, but Krall and her group of superbly talented musians make them all their own. From the sexy Bossa of "How Insensitive" to the lounge-y combo sound of "It Could Happen To You", to the rollicking Big Band of "From This Moment On", the album is a remarkable work by one of the great voices of contemporary jazz.

The album debuted at number one on the Canadian Hot 100, making it Krall's third consecutive number-one album. This album was nominated for Best Jazz Album at the 2007 Grammy Awards. Billboard ranked the album at number 19 on the magazine's Top Jazz Albums of the Decade.

Returning to the large ensemble sound of her 2005 success, Christmas Songs, pianist/vocalist Diana Krall delivers a superb performance on 2006's From This Moment On. Although having received a largely positive critical response for her creative departure into original singer/songwriter jazz material on 2004's The Girl in the Other Room, here listeners find Krall diving headlong into the Great American Songbook that has long been her bread and butter. While she's always been a pleasant presence on album, Krall has developed from a talented pianist who can sing nicely into an engaging, classy, and sultry vocalist with tastefully deft improvisational chops.

At the age of ten Simone Honijk started with classical piano lessons and co n tinued these lessons for nine years. However, over time, singing became her real passion! From the age of 20 she took vocal lessons with professional teachers (pop and jazz styles) and attended many vocal improvisational and interpretaional workshops with various professionals. Some of the songs on this set by bop-influenced altoist Charles McPherson (reissued on CD in 1997) use boogaloo and pop rhythms. The repertoire ranges from a couple of OK originals ("Little Sugar Baby" and "Like the Way You Shake That Thing") to a recent show tune ("Once in a Lifetime") and a few standards. Pianist Cedar Walton, the young guitarist Pat Martino, bassist Peck Morrison and drummer Lennie McBrowne form the strong supporting cast.
