Fureur (2003)

Two people brought together by fate are torn apart by their cultural and familial differences in this romantic drama. Raphael Ramirez (Samuel Le Bihan) is a first generation Frenchman whose parents emigrated there from Spain. Formerly a boxer, Raphael turned his back on pugilism and has gone into auto repair, though both Raphael and his brother, Manu (Yann Tregouet), both have a keen interest in the local Thai boxing scene.

Lars Vogt enjoyed a meteoric rise after capturing second prize at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition. He managed to straddle two worlds in the process, that of soloist/recitalist and that of chamber player. He regularly appeared with front-rank orchestras across the globe and on the recital stages at major venues while founding a chamber music festival and making numerous recordings devoted to chamber works. Vogt's taste in repertory was unusually broad, taking in not only the German sphere (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven) but also a veritable potpourri (Dvorák, Saint-Saëns, Stravinsky) as well as contemporary composers (Erkki-Sven Tüür, Volker David Kirchner). He possessed a powerful technique and a chameleonic interpretive persona that together allowed him to capture the subtleties and negotiate the challenges presented by this vast array of composers.

Pour Hanna X comme pour beaucoup de ces femmes, c'est un peu le voyage de la dernière chance. Petite fille dans la grisaille d'un orphelinat de Brême, elle rêvait à ce qui se cache au-delà du silence, au pays des palmiers qui voit naître le vent…

Born John Wardle, Jah Wobble was an old friend of Sex Pistols singer Johnny Rotten. When the Pistols broke up, Rotten formed Public Image Ltd., and Wobble became the bass player. After the group's first few albums, Wobble had a falling out with Rotten (now Lydon) and guitarist Keith Levene and departed for a solo career, also collaborating with artists such as Can members Jaki Liebezeit and Holger Czukay and U2's the Edge. Wobble's solo repertoire ranges from pop to pseudo-reggae to "difficult to listen to" experimentation. In the late '80s, his career took a downward direction, and he had a job sweeping train stations. He began listening to music from places like North Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe and formed Invaders of the Heart with guitarist Justin Adams.
