Gap of Time

By the end of the 1970s, the original triumvirate of hard rock heroes Zeppelin, Purple and Sabbath had either graduated to the arenas of the world, or even split up, whilst the second wave of British heavy rockers, including UFO, Motörhead and Judas Priest, were beginning to fill theatres across the land. Punk exploded in 1976 and 1977, and the DIY ethos that sprang up in its wake soon influenced the grassroots metal bands who had yet to leave their local bars and clubs. Often independently released, some of the bands in this set never made more than one now highly prized and collectable 45 or one-off EP.

This Japanese edition features the UK original cover design with eight-panel sleeve, including an inner bag. Also features regular edition cardboard sleeve. CD features remastering using the 1975 original UK stereo master. Hawkwind's fifth studio album found the band enjoying a rare oasis of stability after the multitudinous personnel shifts of the past five years. Only the recruitment of a second drummer, Alan Powell, disturbed the equanimity of the lineup that created the previous year's Hall of the Mountain Grill, although it would soon be time to change again.

Compiling material from Willie Nelson's later career, the box set Revolutions of Time: The Journey 1975-1993 provides a thorough overview of the singer's most popular recordings, as well as some of his most obscure. Divided into three thematic discs – "Pilgrimage," "Sojourns," and "Exodus" – the box contains most of his hits from the era, including selections from The Red Headed Stranger and Stardust. These songs are on "Pilgrimage." "Sojourns" concentrates on his duets, while "Exodus" is filled with songs from the late '80s and early '90s…

In the 1980s, the often-repeated joke about Kingdom Come was that the band should have called itself "Kingdom Clone" because it was nothing more than a shameless clone of Led Zeppelin. And, to be sure, the headbangers' Zeppelin worship was so slavish in the '80s that its albums were totally devoid of originality…

"Lots of time" marks the debut with Michel Guaglio's Abeat, and is the result of a long work on the study of composition and improvisation, "Lots of time", is an emblematic title because the work is born precisely after "a long time", because the research was long before being ready to make it, be-cause it tells so much time. To do this Guaglio has chosen partners that represent the excellence of the jazz national scene; musicians capable, endowed with great human and musical sensibility, with a lot of experience. The result is a work that in addition to a remarkable compositional sign sees high expressive finesse and interplay, as well as a valuable stylistic modernity.
