From his pioneering Sixties bands (The Pink Finks, Party Machine and Sons of the Vegetal Mother), to his national breakthrough with Daddy Cool, Ross Wilson's place in Australian music history was assured. However, it did not end there. After disbanding Daddy Cool and in an incredible three-year run he formed the short lived 'super group' Mighty Kong, reformed Daddy Cool, produced (amongst others) the mega selling Skyhook's debut album Living In The Seventies, started a record label (Oz Records) with Glenn Wheatley and formed Mondo Rock. From 1976 - 1978 the band, initially called Ross Wilson's Mondo Rock, honed their live skills on a seemingly endless series of one night stands across the country. The lineup took some time to gel, eventually settling with Peter Laffy (guitar), Randy Bulpin (guitar), Tony Slavich (keyboards), Simon Gyllies (bass) and Iain McLennan (drums). It was this lineup who recorded the half studio / half live debut Primal Park. The deluxe reissue of Primal Park adds the 19.

Faces are an English rock band formed in 1969 by members of Small Faces after Steve Marriott left that group to form Humble Pie. The remaining Small Faces - Ian McLagan (keyboards), Ronnie Lane (bass), and Kenney Jones (drums & percussion) - were joined by Ronnie Wood (guitar) and Rod Stewart (lead vocals), both from The Jeff Beck Group, and the new line-up was renamed Faces. Faces released four studio albums and toured regularly until the autumn of 1975, although Stewart simultaneously pursued a solo recording career, and during the band's final year Wood also toured with The Rolling Stones, whom he later joined.

Eftalya was born in 1891 in Istanbul and died in the same city in 1939. She is the daughter of a Greek-born Ottoman army officer by the name of Yorgaki Efendi, who was also a music lover or an amateur musician. About her teachers in music and how she became a trained musician, we do not know. "Deniz Kızı", which means "mermaid", was her epithet by which she was known throughout her musical life. The epithet has an interesting story…

The incomparable duo, Matmos, have done it again! Their new album, Plastic Anniversary, was created using only plastic. Highlighting the crises of convenience, the Duo make music from our refuse. True to form, the band have assembled a promiscuous array of examples of this sturdy-yet-ersatz family of materials: Dominos, Styrofoam coolers, police riot shields, polyethylene waste containers, PVC panpipes, pinpricks of bubble wrap, pills, silicone gel breast implants and most horrifically synthetic human fat.
