The most comprehensive edition devoted to Gioacchino Rossini marking his 150th anniversary. Born in 1792, Rossini was the most popular opera composer of his time. Although he retired from the Opera scene in 1829, he continued to compose in other genres, including sacred music, piano and chamber works. He did gather his late works under the ironic title Péchés de vieillesse (Sins of Old Age), which veils a true collection of masterworks.

Melodiya presents an album of Grigory Ginsburg, a wonderful virtuoso pianist and one of the glorious representatives of the Russian piano school of the 20th century.

Ginsburg’s name is now overshadowed by some of his better known peers such as Emil Gilels, Sviatoslav Richter, Yakov Flier, Stanislav Neuhaus and others. Meanwhile, in his time in the 1930s-1950s, his concert performances entranced audiences and critics alike.

This album comprises compositions by Franz Liszt and Anton Rubenstein’s Piano Concerto No. 4. Ginsburg’s interpretation of the concerto became a model for musicians of many generations.

Three great names of the organ: Widor, the founder of the french symphonic organ and his two most briliant works; Vandenheuvel, pathfinder of a new era of organ making as show his creations in St-Eustache (Paris) or Genève (Victoria Hall); and Kristiaan Seynhave, a multi-awarded young Flemish virtuoso who impulses extraodinary vitality in his playing.
