Bioconductor software has become a standard tool for the analysis and comprehension of data from high-throughput genomics experiments. Its application spans a broad field of technologies used in contemporary molecular biology. When Leo Koster (Meppel, NL 1953) heard the first Byrds album in 1965 he was not so much impressed by their then familiar hitsongs, but mostly by the songs written and sung by Gene Clark, one of the founding members. It soon became clear that Gene Clark was a very original and prolific songwriter and a great singer who alas did not fit in with the great rock'n'roll machine. He stayed with the Byrds for just a year and a half and then went out on his own.
