Generation to Generation

Mosaic Voices are the Resident Choir at the New West End Synagogue, in London. The synagogue, designed in 1877 by the Scottish architect George Audsley, is a masterpiece of Victorian architecture, known for its beautiful choral acoustic. A great deal of the material on this album is therefore music sung by Mosaic Voices, in Hebrew, during religious services and festivals, of which this music forms a functional element.

Ebalunga!!! presents a joyful reissue of the legendary compilation album 'My Pussy Belongs To Daddy'! Released in 1957 on the Beacon label run by the legendary producer Joe Davis - it was one of the first albums which captured the audience's attention by means of double entendres in the songs.

Good Charlotte return with their 7th studio album with Generation RX. The songs on Generation RX cover a range of deeply personal subjects, with an underling theme touching on the disconnection and hopelessness that seems to be prevalent with youth these days. Music speaks for its generation. Albums and songs consciously and subconsciously echo the emotions, events, and experiences of audiences at large.

When you think about events in a generation it usually reflects the environment surrounding itself, even if the name dennotes something unrefined and unused. This band has promise and doesn't waste a single moment to wallow in its proverbial status as an unrecognizable and or lost generation. The fact is that all these gentlemen hail from a country, Italy, not known as being a jazz powerhouse; they overcome a large uphill battle and in my opinion are at the top of the hill with a select few in this so called wasted gereration. This music perfectly demonstrates what the energy and sound of the time is. You will get a glimpse in this hour long performance at genius level that will most certainly will not have been a waste.

Today, NPG Records and Paisley Park Enterprises, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Records, have released Live At Glam Slam, a previously unreleased live recording in immersive Dolby ATMOS and Sony 360 Reality Audio that documents a historic performance at Prince’s Minneapolis nightclub Glam Slam from January 11th, 1992.

Diamonds and Pearls is the thirteenth studio album by American recording artist Prince, and the first with his new backing band The New Power Generation. It was released on October 1, 1991, by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. Records. The album produced several hit singles, including "Gett Off", "Cream", "Money Don't Matter 2 Night", "Insatiable", and the title track. Dancers Lori Werner (then dancing under the stage name of Lori Elle) and Robia LaMorte, known as "Diamond" and "Pearl" respectively, appeared on the holographic cover (re-pressings of the album are non holographic). Diamond and Pearl also appeared in the music videos for "Cream", "Strollin'", "Gett Off", and the title track, and also participated in Prince's Diamonds and Pearls Tour.

Nitzan, an Israeli musician, graduate of the Thelma Yellin School of Arts, and a third generation holocaust survivor. Nitzan grew up on the inspiring stories of his Saba (grandfather), Rabbi Professor Ervin Birnbaum, an educator, author, social activist and an eternal optimist and dreamer.

Comme les jazzmen qui se sont transmis leurs racines (le blues et le gospel) de génération en génération, Adrien Varachaud, saxophoniste français, s'est inscrit dans cette grande tradition forgée auprès de fameux musiciens noirs, souvent beaucoup plus âgés que lui et qui forment une grande famille dans laquelle il a été reçu. Il s'est totalement imprégné du son et de l'âme (soul) de la culture afro-américaine, une expérience et une situation rare ; une formidable aventure pour un musicien de sa génération. Parmi ces musiciens, quelques-uns se sont réunis en studio il y a quelques mois pour enregistrer un disque ensemble et concrétiser cette amitié commune : Kirk Lightsey, rencontré en 2007 et avec qui Adrien va jouer souvent, puis Darryl Hall qui s'est fait une belle place au sein du milieu musical français, et enfin Famoudou Don Moye, le fameux percussionniste de l'Art Ensemble of Chicago… sans oublier Archie Shepp qui prête ici sa voix. Et Dieu sait s’il chante bien !

In music, the Breton tradition is the junction of numerous always renewed influences: those of the different peoples who came to settle, religious or pagan festivals which punctuated the life of the populations, drawing certain sources from work in the fields or even to give heart to the work of the men who left on their ships but also inspired by landscapes, moors and the sea… Breton has always sang, played, danced, prayed and passed on this living heritage from generation to generation.
