Gillam Time

Following her debut album Rise, which reached No. 1 in the UK Classical chart, Classic BRIT Award-winning saxophonist Jess Gillam has announced her new album Time will be released on 25 September 2020. The debut album "Rise" by young British saxophonist Jess Gillam is a compilation of pieces that showcase their exceptionally versatile musical talent in full breadth. Works by Marcello and Shostakovich are next to arrangements by David Bowie and Kate Bush. Recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra and additional chamber musicians, as well as acclaimed guitarist Milos, who is involved in the John Dowland transcription "Flow my Tears," Rise reflects on her personal musical journey with pieces that inspired her as she progressed. A brand new commissioned work by Jess' teacher and mentor, renowned saxophonist John Harle entitled »Rant« is also included.

“Sound of Silence is my reflection on that time. It includes both guitar pieces that I used in order to build myself up from the ground again, as well as those amazing songs I listened to in moments when I had to get away from it all. It’s a personal scrapbook of music that will always have a special meaning to me.” Milos.

The guitarist talks to Katherine about his new album, conceived during his recovery from a hand injury which put his career on hold for several years.

As one of postmodern music's most celebrated and high-profile composers, Philip Glass' myriad orchestral works, operas, film scores, and dance pieces proved essential to the development of ambient and new age sounds, and his fusions of Western and world musics were among the earliest and most successful global experiments of their kind. Tirelessly exploring and pushing boundaries since the early '60s, Glass produced multiple breakthrough works that helped define entire musical movements, with standouts including 1976's durational opera Einstein on the Beach, 1982's collection of more accessible neo-classical pieces Glassworks, and stellar film scores perfecting the mood for The Thin Blue Line, Kundun, The Hours, and many, many more.

Above the album worked the 'Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker And Other Instrumental Christmas Music ', and his release took place on 2020. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.
