Two young men, one rich, one middle class, who are in love with the same woman, become fighter pilots in World War I.

Damiano Damiani's masterpiece "El Chuncho Quién Sabe?" aka. "A Bullet For The General" of 1967 is a very political Spaghetti Western set in the Mexican Revolution. A quite brutal tale about ideals, greed, friendship and selfishness, is not only a very entertaining Spaghetti Western, but also a unique study of an idealistic man's struggle between his greed and desire for wealth on the one hand, and his beliefs and ideals on the other hand.

This is the story of Jacques, a young car mechanic who dreams of becoming a professional boxer, and his kind-hearted Jewish friend, Simon. In the 1930s, the two men steal a car with a powerful engine that can outrun any other road vehicle and embark on a life of crime – robbing banks and acting as latter day highwaymen. A redoubtable police inspector, Bruno, is close to bringing the two men to justice, but then World War II intervenes. Whilst Jacques and Simon end up, quite by chance, supporting the French Resistance, Bruno consciously decides that his best interests lie in collaborating with the German police. After a government-spawned "superflu" wipes out more than 90 percent of the earth's population, the devastated survivors must decide whether to support or resist the advances of a mysterious stranger from way down South (heh-heh) who wishes to claim this new world order for himself. Although the six-hour length makes it nigh-impossible to digest in one sitting, this well-paced adaptation of Stephen King's apocalyptic magnum opus ranks among the best adaptations of the author's work, with strong performances from Gary Sinise, Miguel Ferrer, and especially Jamey Sheridan as a good-old-boy version of Old Scratch. The opening scene, set to the strains of Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper," is one of the most chilling things ever shot for television.

Director J. Lee Thompson directed this World War II adventure drama from a script by author Bruce Nicolaysen who adapted the screenplay from his novel The Perilous Passage. Anthony Quinn stars as a brave Basque mountaineer who is hired by the American military to guide Professor Bergsson (James Mason) and his family over the dangerous Pyrenees. Together the two men struggle to ensure the group's survival and elude Von Berkow a crazed Nazi played by Malcolm MacDowell.

A wartime tale of double-crossing spies and Nazi evils, The Enemy General is about the stereotypical, not exceedingly brilliant, and crass fascist Gen. Bruger (John Van Dreelen) who is one of the targets of the French Resistance movement. When Lemaire (Van Johnson) gets the unwanted assignment of safely escorting the evil general to England, he is especially torn up about the job. Gen. Bruger was responsible for killing a dozen hostages, among them Lemaire's fiancée. As he sets off with the general, Lemaire has been told that the man has valuable information to give to the British, and that is why he needs to get him safely to England. On the other hand, Lemaire begins to piece things together and eventually realizes that the general is as Nazi as ever and has every intention of betraying British secrets to the German high command.
