Graham Ross directs the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge in a wide-ranging and moving sequence of music for Remembrance, including John Tavener’s “Song for Athene”, settings of the text “When David heard of the death of Absolom “ by two of England’s foremost 16th-century composers, Thomas Tomkins and Thomas Weelkes, and featuring Durufle’s 1948 setting of the Requiem Mass.

Cycles is Max Graham’s “Yearly Snapshot” of his own musical journey, a collection representing the natural progression in his taste. As always with Cycles the elements of melody shine through this classically mixed compilation (like Graham’s own ‘Redemption’ and his remix of Solid Stone and Jennifer Rene’s haunting vocal tune ‘Not Enough’), but much like his successful career over so many years the mix takes a wide arc of influence as it moves from Tim Penner’s lovely piano opening to Alex Di Stefano’s tough as nails “Black Panther” and back down to a perfectly fitting closing track by Gai Barone entitled “Psycles”. Graham delivers his annual state of the trance nation address and it's far removed from the glowstick-led buffoonery of mainstream EDM iterations of the sound.

"Squeezing Out Sparks" is a 1979 album by Graham Parker and the Rumour, their 4th official record. It was voted album of the year in the 1979 Village Voice Pazz & Jop Critics Poll and later ranked #335 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Although the Rumour were not credited on the cover, their name was included on the album label.

Continuing its series of music for the liturgical year, the Choir of Clare College now turns its attention to the feast of Corpus Christi, with a number of pieces setting the hymns of St Thomas Aquinas. The centrepiece is a complete performance of Josquin’s great Missa Pange lingua, and the CD ends with Finzi’s ecstatic Lo, the full, final Sacrifice.

Thomas Aquinas's celebrated Eucharistic hymns appear in settings from the 16th, 20th and 21st centuries, framed by two masterpieces celebrating the Holy Communion: masterpieces celebrating the Holy Communion: Josquin's Missa Pange Lingua and Finzi's extended anthem, Lo, the full, final Sacrifice.
