"Luther Vandross: singer, songwriter, masterful producer, pop balladeer, blues and jazz stylist, soul crooner, torch singer, chansonnier. He made baby-making music that doubled as the soundtrack to nearly unbearable loneliness and isolation, themselves the result of heartbreak or heartache. The yin and yang of joy and emotional despair played out in his music, with one always hinting at or acknowledging the other. With his death, an era came to an end." –from the liner notes by Ernest Hardy THE FIRST CAREER-SPANNING COLLECTION BY LUTHER VANDROSS Featuring: 56 stunning songs on 4 CDs – over 4 hours of music! Rare 12"- Charme - Georgy Porky (yes a Toto cover) with Luther Leadvocals.

Tracks include 8 previously released solo Khan tracks and 2 from the Rufus & Chaka Khan era ("Ain't Nobody", "Tell Me Something Good"). 6 tracks were new at the time, recorded for Khan's 10th, unreleased, solo album "Dare You To Love Me" ("Love Me Still" and the last 5 tracks in the program). A further 7th new track ("It Ain't Easy Lovin' Me") is included on the Japanese edition of "Epiphany".

Label: Big Break Records | Tracks: 09 | Rls.date: 2016

Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this album from the disco diva. At the beginning and then the peak of the disco era, Gloria Gaynor managed to create two signature themes whilst still maintaining a distinctive and prolific voice on surrounding albums. Disco could be frivolous but Gloria managed to appropriate this into songs that often proved wistful. 1977's Glorious was Gloria's fourth hit album and second for Polydor Records. Other highlights including the up-tempo disco cuts 'We Can Start All Over Again,' 'Why Should I Pay,' and 'Life Ain't Worth Living' which collectively made #38 on Billboard's Disco chart. Gloria also updated Herman Hupfield's immortal 'As Time Goes By'.

Like many disco groups of the 70s, Saint Tropez was a producers' brainchild, in this case of American producers Laurin Rinder & W. Michael Lewis who had already been successful with disco groups El Coco and Le Pamplemousse. Saint Tropez was a female ménage-à-trois, three good-looking women, striking in lesbian poses on the covers of the first two albums Je T'aime (1977) and Belle de Jour (1978), both hugely successfull disco albums with big symphonic orchestrations and a tight disco backing, all the instruments played solely by the two producers. Je T'aime offered Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin's well-known classic in an equally sensual disco symphony. They also covered material by Van McCoy and Gregg Diamond's "Heart To Heart" (sung in French as "Coeur à coeur"), originally written for The Andrea True Connection.
