Peterson setzte die Idee erstmals mit Michael Cretu und dem weltweiten Sound-Phänomen „Enigma“ um. Das erste Album „MCMXC a.D.“ erschien 1990 und wurde schon nach kurzer Zeit ein weltweiter Erfolg.

2010s new album from Gregorian returns to the theme of the dark side. As with all of Gregorians cd's there are those tracks that you like staight away and those that will grow on you over time.

Gregorian is a German band, headed by Frank Peterson, which performs Gregorian chant-inspired versions of modern pop and rock songs. Because it features both vocal harmony and instrumental accompaniment, the music cannot be considered true Gregorian chant.Gregorian have released six albums in their Masters of Chant series and a number of other albums, including a Christmas album. They have also released two types of video album; live concerts and music video albums featuring the singers in various surroundings.

PURE CHANTS is exactly what the title promises. True to the motto: "In tranquillity lies strength", Gregorian have recorded half of the songs on PURE CHANTS largely without instrumental accompaniment, relying entirely on the power and beauty of the human voice.

As a special highlight, the choir can be experienced for the first time at home in impressive surround sound. Gregorian will embark on a 25-date European tour from the end of January 2022, before embarking on a major 70-date German tour with PURE CHANTS in spring 2023. In addition, another 120 dates in Europe, Asia, North and South America are in preparation.
