Pair-Correlation Effects in Many-Body Systems: Towards a Complete Theoretical Description of Pair-Correlations in the Static and Kinetic Description of Many-Body Systems by Kristian Blom

The laws of nature encompass the small, the large, the few, and the many. In this book, we are concerned with classical (i.e., not quantum) many-body systems, which refers to any microscopic or macroscopic system that contains a large number of interacting entities. The nearest-neighbor Ising model, originally developed in 1920 by Wilhelm Lenz, forms a cornerstone in our theoretical understanding of collective effects in classical many-body systems and is to date a paradigm in statistical physics.

This book and others in; this series written! by me ase mspired by the memory of my son, Suresh who left this; world soon after completing school. Suresh and I often used to discuss^ physics, It was then that I introduced him to the celebrated Feynman Lectures. Hans Bethe has; described Feynman as the most original scientist of this century.

This book and others in this series written by me are inspired by the memory of my son Suresh who left this world soon after completing school. Suresh and I often used to discuss physics. It was then that I introduced him to the celebrated Feynman Lectures.Hans Bethe has described Feynman as the most original scientist of this century. To that perhaps may be added the statement that Feynman was also the most scintillating teacher of physics in this century. The Feynman Lectures are great but they are at the textbook level and meant for serious reading. Moreover, they are a bit expensive, at least for the average Indian student.

To that perhaps may be added the statement that Feynman vas also the most scintillating teacher of physics in this century. The Feynman Lectures are great but they are at the textbook level and meant for serious reading. It seemed to me that there was scope for small tooks on diverse topics in physics which would stimulate interest, making at least some of the young students take up later a serious study of physics aid reach for the Feynman as well as the Landau classics.
