Lucifer III" is the third studio album by LUCIFER who celebrated massive international success with 2018's much acclaimed "Lucifer II", which saw the 2014 formed band's new constellation reach a new level of songcraft and sheer impact. Uniting the songwriting talents of Johanna Sadonis and Nicke Andersson (The Hellacopters, Entombed, Imperial State Electric), "Lucifer III" now further perfects the group's stunning mix of 70's hard rock, tinges of doom, doses of classic heavy metal and addictive choruses resulting in powerful ballads ('Leather Demon', 'Cemetery Eyes'), straight up rockers ('Flanked By Snakes', 'Ghosts'), catchy anthems ('Lucifer', 'Midnight Phantom', 'Pacific Blues') and Sabbathian heaviness ('Coffin Fever').
Out on May 6th 2022 via Svart Records, Finland’s own masters of frenzied Proto-metal, Kaleidobolt, bring the past up to date with a new album that perfectly elevates all the promise and flair their reputation has been boiling over since their 2015 debut album. “This One Simple Trick” packs more punch than most bands with far larger lineups, the deadly trio of Sampo Kääriäinen on guitars, lead vocals and keyboards and Marco Menestrina on bass, vocals, keyboards, percussions are reinvigorated by recent new recruit, drummer Mårten Gustafsson.
For 30 years, Backyard Babies has delivered top of the line rock'n'roll, both live and recorded. The fact that the original four guys that started the band still are playing together, is next to unique.
Sweden’s OPETH are preparing to release their most important record to date with »In Cauda Venenum«. Certainly, fans and critics will have their opinion, but few records in the Swedes’ oeuvre are as engaging, delicate, panoramic, intense, and musical as OPETH’s lucky thirteenth. Sporting a clever Travis Smith cover – replete with inside jokes and a nod to KING DIAMOND – a masterful Park Studios (The Hellacopters, Graveyard) production, OPETH’s usual five-star musicianship, and lyrics entirely in Swedish, »In Cauda Venenum« raises the bar markedly. While a record in Swedish is a first—there’s also an English version—for frontman and founding member Mikael Åkerfeldt, the 10 songs on offer feel and sound completely natural. As if years of listening to and being a fan of Swedish rock and hard rock has paid off. In a way, Opeth have come home. But the Swedish lyrics of the primary edition of »In Cauda Venenum« shouldn’t distract from the quality presented in OPETH’s new songs, the lot of which sneak up and take control after repeated listens. »In Cauda Venenum« is like that, tricky in its complicated simplicity, resourceful in its ability to charm with delightful if wistful melodies. Really, it’s just OPETH being OPETH.
