Johnny Rivers' first two LPs – 1964's At the Whiskey-a-Go-Go and Here We A-Go-Go Again, both recorded at the famed Los Angeles club – are compiled on this set, a portrait of the singer at his mid-1960s peak. I first heard the latter of this compilation (Here We A-Go-Go Again) at a friends place back in 1969. His mom had the record and everytime I'd visit, she would let me blare the stereo as long as I'd have Johnny Rivers playing. Some years later I bought both albums for my own and still listen to them today although "Here We A-Go-GO Again" gets the nod. Johnnys crisp guitar and harmonica playing along with Jerry Rubins drums and Joe Osbournes bass gave this trio a great sound.

Avid Jazz here presents three classic Dorsey Brothers albums plus, including original LP liner notes on a finely re-mastered double CD. 'The Fabulous Dorseys In Hi-Fi Vols 1 & 2', 'Sentimental & Swinging', plus unreleased CBS Radio Network recordings. Columbia’s double set 'The Fabulous Dorseys In Hi-Fi Vols 1 & 2' and 'Sentimental & Swinging' make up the thirty six recordings made by Tommy Dorsey in early 1955. Sadly they also constitute the last recordings the Dorsey Brothers made together! These classic big band sessions together with the previously unreleased CBS Radio Network recordings (which were cancelled when Tommy tragically and unexpectedly died) make this latest release from Avid Jazz a truly essential addition to our fine and highly regarded catalogue.

The third Motorpsycho full length marks an important step for the band, both in terms of musical ambition and execution. The previous album Demon Box was a very diverse album but it could still largely be tagged as a metal/stoner album. At one level, one would have to be a collector, an Anglophile, or a 1960s pop culture enthusiast to consider this 14-CD set a good deal.
