"Hypnotic Eye" is the thirteenth and final studio album by American rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming the only Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers album ever to top the chart. "Hypnotic Eye" was nominated for the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.

Mira is a self-released album from the international band Jienat, mixed and mastered on two crystal-clear Blu-ray CDs. One CD offers the album as an audio-only Blu-ray disc; the second presents the album as a standard CD/high-definition SACD. The SACD presented a huge, totally believable soundscape, with various drums and voices emerging from a dense blackness. Mira is a world-music sonic spectacular, a voice-and-percussion workout that transcends geographic boundaries.

These recordings, made during Sir Colin Davis’ "Indian summer" with the orchestra, are acknowledged to be amongst the finest recordings ever made of this repertoire, receiving numerous awards. In November 2017, the Berlin Philharmonic gave a series of concerts in Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan. It was the last tour of Asia that Rattle would undertake as the orchestra's chief conductor, and their performances are thoroughly documented on these discs. Four of the discs are derived from the final pair of concerts, which were given in Tokyo's magnificent Suntory Hall, while the other, a performance of Ravel's G Major Piano Concerto with the winner of the 2015 Warsaw Chopin competition as soloist, was recorded in the Berlin Philharmonie before the tour began. he recordings are astonishingly vivid, and the whole set provides a very impressive showcase of the Berlin Phil's current condition as it nears the end of Rattle's reign.

LSO Live presents the first in a series exploring the complete symphonies of Felix Mendelssohn under the baton of Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Also featured on this release is the eminent Portuguese pianist, Maria João Pires, in the inaugural concerto recording on the label. Inspired by his travels to the British Isles and full of the influence of the rolling Scottish landscape, both Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3 "Scottish" and his Hebrides Overture are amongst the composer's most popular and celebrated works.

Mariss Jansons's interpretation of Mahler's Symphony No. 8 is yet another landmark for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, performed here with a star-studded cast. This recording is part of the orchestra's full Mahler cycle presented from 2009 to 2011 to celebrate the composer's 150th birthday and 100th anniversary of his death.

Hoff Ensemble consists of some of Norway's finest jazz and session musicians, fronted by trumpeter Mathias Eick, of ECM renown, who plays a leading role in several of the compositions. The ensemble's basic quartet features legendary veteran bassist Arild Andersen and arranger Jan Gunnar Hoff on piano. The music on Quiet Winter Night is created by film composers Geir Bøhren and Bent Åserud and among the vocalists are some of Norway's top names in popular music: Helene Bøksle, Åsne Valland Nordli, Sondre Bratland, Unni Wilhelmsen, Tomine Harket, Bjørn Johan Muri, Cecilia Vennersten and Bjørn Eidsvåg.

Tchaikovsky's early trio of symphonies have long lived in the shadow of the three that followed. Following his acclaimed Mariinsky disc of the final three symphonies, Valery Gergiev conducts outstanding performances of these early works with the London Symphony Orchestra. Tchaikovsky's early symphonies are full of rich expressive melodies something for which he had a natural talent. They contain influences of Russian nationalism and folk tunes, particularly in the second (Little Russian) and the first (Winter Dreams), which hints at a Russian landscape.

Eschewing its usual heavy orchestral sound in favor of a more stripped-down instrumentation, Dutch violinist Janine Jansen's second album offers a fresh interpretation of one of the most performed classical works, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. The 2005 follow-up to her Barry Wordsworth-conducted debut, the subtle but passionate renditions of the "La Primavera," "L'estate," "L'autunno," and "L'inverno" concertos are performed with a sparse, eight-piece ensemble including Lithuanian violinist Julian Rachlin, her cellist brother Maarten, and harpsichordist father Jan.
