Hotel Rwanda tackles one of the most horrifically ugly events in recent history, when the Hutu extremists of Rwanda initiated a terrifying campaign of genocide, massacring hundreds of thousands of minority Tutsis (who had been given power by the departed Belgian colonists), while the rest of the world looked on and did nothing. Don Cheadle stars as Paul Rusesabagina, the hotel manager at the fancy Les Milles Collines hotel in Kigali. Paul is a Hutu, and a very successful businessman who smoothly greases the wheels, making powerful connections in all strata of Rwandan life. His wife, Tatiana (Sophie Okonedo of Aeon Flux), is a Tutsi. She urges Paul to use his influence to help local Tutsis, who are being harassed and beaten with increasing frequency, but Paul will only use the political capital he's built up to help his own family, if and when they need it……

The Taj is where the super-rich come to be treated like the maharajahs of India's past and where rooms can cost up to £9,000 per night, all in a city where half of the population still lives below the poverty line. Over six months, the film-makers follow the hotel's 1,500 strong staff as they perform their duties with the mantra 'Guest is God' in mind.

Dans un hôtel situé sur le bord du canal Saint-Martin à Paris, on célèbre une communion. Les propriétaires et clients de l’établissement fêtent l’événement autour d’un repas chaleureux lorsqu’un couple de jeunes amoureux (Pierre et Renée) arrive pour prendre une chambre. Au cours de la nuit, un coup de feu retentit ! Pierre (Jean-Pierre Aumont) et sa jeune compagne (Annabella) ont tenté de se suicider. Renée est blessée tandis que le jeune homme, incrédule, décide de prendre la fuite… Après avoir été soignée, Renée est hébergée par les hôteliers qui lui proposent un emploi de serveuse. Dès lors, son destin se mêlera à celui des clients de l’hôtel et notamment à ce couple étrange et haut en couleurs formé par Monsieur Edmond (Louis Jouvet) et Raymonde (Arletty)…
