Tandis qu'un flic désabusé, Huysmans, enquête sur les meurtres perpétrés par un serial killer qui déchaîne sa violence sur des prostituées et des travestis de Bruxelles, Bo Ancelin - un jeune homme qui a choisi de devenir femme - balade ses incertitudes sur les trottoirs de cette ville, poursuivant de sa passion le beau Johnny dont il ne reçoit que sarcasmes et humiliations. Les deux histoires se croisent lorsque des amis de Bo sont, à leur tour, victimes de l'assassin. Le jeune travesti se trouve alors amené à conduire sa propre enquête pour écarter les soupçons qui pèsent sur lui. Bo va découvrir que l'homme qu'il aime n'est sans doute pas étranger à cette affaire…

When a Belgian professor is arrested for molesting children, his son, Bo, is hassled by the police into testifying against him. Years ago, Bo laid a charge against his father – but no one believed him. Now in his mid-twenties and a transvestite, Bo mistrusts the police and is unwilling to cooperate with them. However, cooperate she must when a serial killer begins to prey on prostitutes and cross-dressers in Brussels. Police chief Huysmans begins to suspect that Bo is the killer, since she is connected with several of the victims. As the murders continue, Bo becomes obsessed with her rough-cut neighbour, Johnny, whose sordid life revolves around drugs, sex and pimping. Although he treats her with contempt, Bo cannot help but be drawn to Johnny, as though their destinies were inextricably entwined…

Mientras que Huysmans, un policía desengañado de todo investiga los crímenes de un « serial killer » que se ensaña con las prostitutas y travestis de Bruselas, Bo, transexual que lleva a rastras su inseguridad por las calles de esa misma ciudad, encendido de pasión por el guapo Johnny, del que no recibe más que burlas y humillaciones. Las dos historias se cruzan en el momento en que unos amigos de Bo caen entre las manos del asesino, comienza la investigación personal del travestí detective

Great bluesy hard rock from Belgium. Formed in Brussels in 1969 as Doctor Downtrip (eponymous 1st LP in 1973), by the end of 1975 the name was shortened to Downtrip. "If You Don't Rock Now" was released in 1976 on CBS/Epic. Excellent hard-rocking stuff throughout; highlights were "Sweet Lies" and the awesome "Getting Louder". It took more than two years before another Downtrip album hit the shops, but "Downtown" was a fine third set. Especially the first side had storming numbers such as "Scarecrow", "Shout It Out", "Dedicated To You" and the longer title song. Two frenetic guitars and powerful bass making a big and nervous sound. Recommended!
