In This Moment have announced details of their upcoming seventh album, Mother. The follow-up to 2017’s Ritual will be released on March 27 via Atlantic Records. Speaking last year, In This Moment guitarist Chris Howorth said that Mother is their “heaviest record since [2012 album] Blood.” He continues: “Now that it’s all done and I’m hearing it as one thing, I’m, like, ‘Damn! This is really heavy.’ So I think a lot of our fans are going to really like that about it. “It’s ‘Mother’ in the sense of mother Maria (Brink, vocalist), but also Mother Earth. Mother is the key to life.”
Mother is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band In This Moment. It was released on March 27, 2020, through Atlantic Records and Roadrunner Records and was produced by Kevin Churko and Kane Churko. The album features a host of special guests including Ded's Joe Cotella, The Pretty Reckless's Taylor Momsen and Halestorm's Lzzy Hale. The first single "The In-Between," is a sonically gorgeous labyrinth of sound steered by frontwoman Maria Brink's beguiling vocals, which swirl around guitarist Chris Howorth's heavier-than-granite riffing. "Mother" follows 2017's beloved "Ritual." Excitement for this record burns at a fevered pitch, as In This Moment landed on several "Most Anticipated" lists, including Alternative Press, Loudwire, and Revolver.
“Having this identity - radical indigenous queer feminist - keeps me going. My music and my identity come from the same foundation of being a Native woman.” Katherine Paul (aka KP) is Black Belt Eagle Scout, and Mother of My Children is her debut album. Recorded in the middle of winter near her hometown in Northwest Washington, Paul’s connection to the landscape’s eerie beauty are palpable throughout as the album traces the full spectrum of confronting buried feelings and the loss of what life was supposed to look like.
Ignore who is making this album. Strip it all away and the first song “It’s About Time” would be just about one of the finest that anyone has released this year…
The forthcoming fifth album by the international phenomenon that is Mother’s Cake sees the psych-rock trio present itself in suitably appropriate fashion: sky high, far out yet still very much down to earth. In preparation for over a year and recorded during a series of sleep-deprived three day sessions, the group concentrate on the essentials on the ten new songs that comprise ‘Cyberfunk!’, bundling their raw live energy into a dynamically dense release that sounds like vintage madness of the best possible kind and fits the moment in perfect fashion.
Jeff Plate has joined forces with TSO keyboardist Jane Mangini and some amazing new talent to form his "years in the making" band Alta Reign. Plate and Mangini, along with Tommy Cook (guitars/lead vocals), Collin Holloway (guitars/lead vocals), Kevin McCarthy (bass, vocals) and Zach Hamilton (keyboards, guitars/vocals), will be releasing Alta Reign’s debut album "Mother’s Day" on January 8, 2021 via Rat Pak Records. The album is a reflection of dedication as the initial idea spawned 30 years ago and ended in 2020 with the album now being released in 2021. States drummer Jeff Plate, “Beginning in a rehearsal room in Rockland, Ma. 30 years ago and ending in this insane year of 2020, "Mother’s Day" is the end result of years of writing, listening, learning, planning and waiting for the right moment to put this all together. Everyone involved has been the perfect combination of effort and talent to complete the ideas and songs that have been kicking around in my head for years. I could not be prouder to share this album with the world, this is Alta Reign.”
