Relapse Records proudly announces the 25th anniversary reissue of CAVE IN’s monumental Jupiter. Named one of the best metal albums of the decade by Decibel Magazine, Jupiter marks a significant shift in CAVE IN’s musical direction that sees the band embark on a post-hardcore space odyssey. Perhaps the finest record of CAVE IN’s storied career, Jupiter sounds as fresh and as vital as ever. Jupiter is available as a standalone LP, as well as a deluxe 2xCD and 3xLP box set, all remastered by James Plotkin. The 2xCD includes the full album alongside a special live set recorded for broadcast on Boston’s legendary rock radio station WBCN in October of 2000.

Taking the musical reins from the legendary Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner boarded the Starship Enterprise to deliver what would prove to be his breakthrough score. A surprisingly dark, emotional effort some distance removed from Goldsmith's utopian fanfare, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was instrumental in steering the franchise into more complex territory. Horner's lucid melodies and sweeping orchestral arrangements possess a sense of genuine danger and malice long absent from Star Trek's musical backdrop, climaxing in the profoundly emotional catharsis of "Spock." His efforts lend Trek creator Gene Roddenberry's vision a newfound gravitas.

James Eleganz went to California at the legendary Rancho de la Luna studio to record the album The Only One, surrounded by Larry Mullins aka Toby Dammit (former Stooges drummer, keyboard Nick Cave on his current tour, and director for many artists including in France Marie Modiano, Keren Ann, Raphael, Stephan Eicher among others). The former Success band musician is now turning to rock and this turn suits him perfectly, especially since for the occasion, James Eleganz has surrounded himself with mythical figures in the history of rock. At the realization of the disc, one finds Toby Dammit, percussionist and arranger, close collaborator of Iggy Pop and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Joined the adventure Mike Watt, bassist of Stooges and founder of Minutemen.

Philippe Rogier was a Fleming who was brought to Spain in 1572, when he was about 11, to sing in the chapel choir of King Philip II. He died young, at age 35, and many of his works were lost in the Lisbon earthquake of 1755. For these reasons his work remained obscure in the general 20th century rediscovery of Renaissance music, but more than 200 of his works survived, some of them in manuscripts from as far away as Mexico. The British group Magnificat and conductor Philip Cave undertake an admirable effort to explore the music of this composer, whose style included elements of both Venetian polychoral music and classic Franco-Flemish polyphony.
