Sun Rooms is the 2009 album by Jason Adasiewicz. This was released by the Delmark label.

Performed on December 18th of 2012 in Chicago, this performance was recorded directly to an 8 track Studer recorder. This great ensemble of world class players features Chicago-style modern jazz at its best. Although the jazz is avant, it is also quite lyrical and captivating to listen to on tape. One customer said he had never heard better sounding vibes than on this tape. A handmade stereo mic was used on the vibes; and a hand assembled Telefunken 251e was used on the tenor sax.

Dave McDonnell is a composer, computer music programmer and jazz saxophonist. A Chicago native, McDonnell currently resides in Cincinnati, where he teaches Computer Music, Recording and Arranging at The University of Dayton and laptop music at The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Live at Jazz Fest Saalfelden 2011 marks the third iteration of the quintet led by the powerful Norwegian bassist and composer Ingebrigt Håker Flaten. In fact, this time out the quintet has actually become a sextet with the addition of the acclaimed vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz. As the album title says, the music was cut live at the prestigious International Jazzfestival Saalfelden in Austria in August of 2011, a concert that marked the first-ever performance by this particular line-up.

For more than fifteen years, cornetist, improviser, composer, and music presenter Josh Berman has been an essential contributor to Chicago’s active improvised music scene. His work encompasses both developing opportunities for presenting improvised music, and performing in a variety of highly collaborative formats. He’s a co-founder of critically acclaimed Umbrella Music, and curator of the Sunday night music series at the Hungry Brain. He’s performed as bandleader of his own groups, Josh Berman Trio, Josh Berman’s Old Idea, and Josh Berman and His Gang, and as co-leader of Chicago Luzern Exchange.

There Now is a collection of jazz hybrids: both new compositions and arrangements of early jazz standards. The Gang is concerned equally with the great musical legacies of Louis Armstrong, Pee Wee Russell, Derek Bailey, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. It’s the kind of exploration that can only come from musicians that are native speakers of three languages: jazz, free jazz and free improvisation.

Darren Johnston (born in Ontario) is a Canadian jazz trumpeter and flugelhorn player active in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene.

Ingebrigt has established himself as one of the strongest voices on bass in jazz and improvised music on the international circuit today. His work with his own projects, as well as with The Thing, Atomic, Free Fall, Scorch, and in duo formats with Joe McPhee, Evan Parker and Håkon Kornstad have put him at the center of a large pool of improvisers with strikingly different modes of operation.
