Fans of classic AOR in the style of Journey and Chicago are going to absolutely lose their minds when they hear Generation Radio's stunning debut. As their self-titled debut illustrates, mission accomplished! Two-time Grammy award winning bassist Jay Demarcus of the hugely popular country act Rascal Flatts and Jason Scheff, who was lead vocalist and bass player for the multi-platinum band Chicago for over 30 years, are joined by drummer/vocalist Deen Castronovo (Journey, Revolution Saints) guitarist Chris Rodriguez and XXX Tom Yankton in Generation Radio.

…Beyond the tribute, this album can be heard as such, in continuity. This makes it an indispensable album in the discography of GILMOUR, BARRETT, WATERS, WRIGHT & MASON… Contrary to other Magna Carta tributes, this one's objective was to re-perform as faithfully as possible, without breaks and in order, the nine pieces included in the mythical "Dark Side Of The Moon", this all-time favourite originally issued in 1973.

Two purveyors of musical sunshine have teamed up for their first collaborative album and it delivers on its implied promise of sun, surf, and tropical breezes. Singer-songwriter Jeff Larson has joined with his longtime collaborator, Jeffrey Foskett of The Beach Boys, for Elua Aloha, an upbeat and inviting celebration of the California sound in all its many colors… Larson has written all but two of the songs on this release, and produced or co-produced nearly every track, while both artists (whose voices mesh beautifully) share vocal duties on leads and backgrounds.

When prominent members of successful bands make solo albums, they tend to take one of two approaches: either they try to avoid sounding like the parent groups, or they don't. Robert Lamm, keyboardist and singer with Chicago, for the most part went the former route with his first three solo albums, and there was much validity to that, if only because the band's most identifiable style – its horn sound – was played by others. Lamm did bring his familiar strengths to his solo albums, particularly his direct, personal way with lyrics and his eclectic musical taste. But usually you wouldn't mistake a track from one of those albums for a Chicago recording. His fourth album, Subtlety & Passion, is a different story. Most of the tracks on it would fit easily onto a Chicago album, especially one of the band's LPs from the mid-'70s.

The story of Badfinger is arguably rock’s saddest and most tragic tale. But one thing is for certain, the group that practically invented “power pop” was abundantly filled with great talent. Three great songwriters in one band was reminiscent of the group’s original label founders, The Beatles. Perhaps the most unheralded of the three in Badfinger was Liverpudlian guitarist Joey Molland. His songwriting talent started to blossom with the group’s finest album, 1971’s Straight Up. Molland contributed five songs to the group’s fourth platter including “I’d Die Babe,” “Sweet Tuesday Morning,” and “Suitcase.” Joey continued to play and write as Badfinger motored through the ’70s recording and touring. Great albums like 1974’s Wish You Were Here were met with record company and personal mismanagement and in 1975, the group’s leader, Pete Ham, tragically passed away. Molland eventually left the group, returned, and left again to start his own solo career.
