7 is the 7th and last studio album by hard rock band Talisman released on 20 October 2006 on Frontiers Records. It was recorded under the working title of "BAR", which stood for "Bitter-Angry-Resentful", basically a joke referring to the guys’ outlook on certain life events. It was dropped in the end in favour of the more immediate "7". "7" is an album that encompasses several music styles, but keeping intact the elements of the Talisman trademark rhythms. The Swedish bass player and songwriter Marcel Jacob (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Europe) teamed once again with US vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, formally of (Yngwie Malmsteen, Soul Sirkus and Journey), drummer Jamie Borger (Treat) and guitarist Fredrik Åkesson (Currently a member of Opeth) to give birth to the recording.
German guitarist Axel Rudi Pell is one of heavy metal's masterminds, thanks to his spiraling playing techniques, which helped Pell remain a mainstay in the hard rock genre for decades. His first band, Steeler, kicked off a career in Europe during the early part of the '80s, issuing three albums (1984's Steeler, 1985's Rulin' the Earth, 1986's Strike Back) prior to 1987's Undercover Animal, which signaled the beginning of Pell's solo career. This professional jaunt allowed Pell to fully expose his riveting playing power and collaborations between he and other musicians. His 1989 album Wild Obsession showcased ex-Steeler bassist Volker Krawczak and vocal charm from Charlie Huhn, but 1991's sophomore effort proved Pell's determination. Nasty Reputation was heavier, with Rob Rock on vocals and Pell bringing in neo-classical influences…
The year was 1989, and the Hair Metal craze was rapidly approaching critical mass. Multi-million selling arena-rock success stories like Poison, Warrant, and Cinderella continued to take their bombastic blend of Aqua-Net and Marshall amplification to the bank while A&R scouts at record labels large and small pounded their fists on their desks and cried out in unison, "Dammit, we need one of those bands, too!"…
Joel Hoekstra, best known to legions of rock fans as the current guitarist for Whitesnake and Trans-Siberian Orchestra (and also known for his work with Night Ranger and the Broadway show Rock of Ages), returns with his sophomore album, "Running Games" from his electrifying solo project, Joel Hoekstra’s 13. Hoekstra once again handles the bulk of the creative process, overseeing production, songwriting and arranging (music and lyrics), and crafting his vision for this powerful hard rock record. Add Chris Collier’s masterful mixing and the result is ‘70s/’80s classic hard rock with 2020’s muscle. As with the debut, “Running Games” features an all-star cast of musicians including none other than Russell Allen (vocals), Tony Franklin (bass), Vinny Appice (drums), and Derek Sherinian (keyboards). The amazing Jeff Scott Soto also lends a helping hand with background vocals.
"Humanimal" is the third studio album by the Swedish American melodic hard rock band "Talisman" originally released in 1994. Talisman are an awesome melodic rock band led by the powerful vocals of Jeff Scott Soto. Their unique style of melodic rock has a certain groove that just lets each song flow perfectly. They always mix it up with a great balance of heaviness and ballads but the common thread between different songs and albums are the powerhouse vocals. This is the re-mastered deluxe version, a compilation with music from both Humanimal and Humanimal part 2.
For those who have never heard of W.E.T. the band comprise of Jeff Scott Soto on lead vocals and keyboards, Erik Mårtensson on rhythm/lead guitar and backing/lead Vocals, Robert Säll on keyboards/guitar & backing vocals, Magnus Henriksson on rhythm/lead guitar and backing vocals, Robban Bäck on drums and Andreas Passmark on bass. So if any of those names means anything to you, you will know that the band has on paper the highest pedigree, being something of an AOR supergroup.
Swedish/American melodic hard rock supergroup W.E.T., which derives its acronymic moniker from the first letter of each of its three member's flagship bands, formed in 2008 after Italian record label Frontiers asked keyboardist/guitarist Robert Säll (Work of Art) and guitarist Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse) to each contribute six songs to a new project with Talisman vocalist Jeff Scott Soto. The results can be heard on their well-received 2009 eponymous debut. Road-tested and operating like a well-oiled machine, the newly minted band decided to ditch the individual approach and start writing as a unit for 2013's Rise Up, which was followed in 2014 by the live CD/DVD One Live: In Stockholm. December 2017 saw the release of the single "Watch the Fire," in anticipation of the arrival of the group's third studio effort Earthrage, which dropped in March 2018.
