While virtually unknown in the U.S., pop singer Jennifer Rush achieved superstar status as an expatriate in Europe, selling millions of records and releasing a string of hit singles notable for their booming, dance-rock arrangements and Rush's powerful voice. Born Heidi Stern in New York City, Rush's father was an opera singer and her mother was a pianist. At the age of nine, she moved to Germany with her family, returning in her teens to the States. In 1982, she returned to Germany with her father to pursue a singing career, signing a deal with CBS/Columbia. Changing her name to Jennifer Rush, she released a series of songs that made her a star in Europe, including "Into My Dreams," "Come Give Me Your Hand," "25 Lovers," and "Ring of Ice."

Jennifer Rush released 3 albums on Sony here in the states in the 80's. This CD rocks. This was the second release. She has a duet with Elton John "Flames of Paradise" and this song is explosive. Elton John like her voice so much he asked if he could do a duet with her-and this rocks. I am telling you this song is awesome-Elton John can barely keep up with her-she is just so powerful on the song. It is a great dance song–one of the best ever recorded. The rest of the CD is more rock sounding than the rest of Jennifer Rush's CD's but this CD is rocking.

Movin' is the second studio album by American singer Jennifer Rush. Originally released in Germany in late 1985, just as Rush was experiencing worldwide success with "The Power of Love" from her previous album, Movin' became an instant hit there. The album reached No.1 for 14 weeks and went on to be the biggest selling album of 1986. Despite high sales for her previous album, Rush found it harder to follow up in the UK, where the album (released in 1986) only managed to reach No.32, mainly due to the lack of a hit single.

Jennifer Rush has previously flirted with R&B in her career, but this album is her most consistent exploration of the style. She sounds fantastic, with her deep, soulful voice at times sounding reminscent of Annie Lennox. Here, she has put together a mellow collection of mature tunes that would make a great complement to a candlelight dinner. Favorites include a lush cover of Brenda Russell's "Piano in the Dark," a showstopping reading of Stevie Wonder's "All in Love is Fair" and the shimmering "Deeper Within." It's not all ballads: "Sweet Thing" feels like some long-lost Motown classic, with its happy keyboards, blaring sax and chugging rhythm. The thoughtful title song, written by Richard Darbyshire from the '80s pop band Living in a Box, features a gospel choir, as do two other cuts on the disc.

Passion is the fourth album by American singer Jennifer Rush. Following on from the success of her previous album, Rush continued working with much of the same team of writers and producers. This album however failed to find the same high level of success and didn't chart at all in the UK. However sales were satisfying in her most successful market, Germany, where the album reached No.3 and was certified platinum. The lead single "You're My One and Only" became a hit, but further releases "Keep All the Fires Burning Bright" and "Love Get Ready" did little to generate interest. Single success did come a few months later in the UK, when a duet with Placido Domingo, "Till I Loved You" became a hit in the summer of 1989.

I haven't recently discovered Jennifer Rush. Her voice is the most incredible instrument in pop music. I have not found one bad track on this collection. Jennifers version of Queens "Who wants to live forever" with special guest Brian May is to say the least Haunting. This album show cases Jennifer as a premiere talent in the music buisness today. She continues to create some of the greatest work I have ever heard. This is a must for anyone who appreciates female vocalists with range, and emotion.
