Today is the culmination of 3 years of writing, playing, recording and seeing our incredibly diverse country. I want you to know that America is alive and well with wonderful people doing great things in the North, South, Midwest, South West, North West and West. I dreamed that I would be healthy enough after a long battle with Lyme’s Disease to do this recording and touring. And I dreamed that my young band of 20-somethings from around the world (Donnie Hogue, JennHwan Wong, Aleif Hamdan, Sally Rose Stempler, Virginia Garcia Alves, Jack Sheehan and my son, Tristan Young) would be able to tour and record this topical music while the moment was hot.

In 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine voted Victor one of the Top Ten Bassist of ALL TIME. “Words and Tones” is a collection of original music featuring female vocalists. “Sword and Stone” is an instrumental version of many of the same songs from the CD "Words and Tones" and includes different interpretations, musicians, and performances, which showcase different sides of Wooten’s approach to music, performance, and songwriting.

Even though Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals) remained at the helm of the Grateful Dead in the '90s, many enthusiasts felt as if his passions lay with his solo congregate. The eponymously titled double-CD set boasts over two hours of support for that theory. Jerry Garcia Band (1991) was documented in 1990 from a series of shows at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco. The quartet is led by the guitarist and features longtime Garcia associate John Kahn (bass), Melvin Seals (keyboards), David Kemper (drums), Gloria Jones (vocals), and Jackie LaBranch (vocals). The selections accurately image the wide spectrum of pop, R&B, rock and soul covers Garcia and company played circa the late '80s and early '90s.
