Arguably the British rock scene was hugely influenced by the massive commercial impact of American melodic rock bands that emerged during the late 70s. However there was a time, earlier in the decade, when British rock cast a huge impact on American music. Acts such as Free, Bad Company, Trapeze and Deep Purple were the hot ticket items of the time and their influence was staggeringly persuasive… not least on Target. Memphis based Target were keen students of the British sound and forged their style and identity with exacting accuracy.

Digitally remastered and expanded edition including six bonus tracks. Memphis during the 70s was a hot bed of musical talent. Sure, it's blues and R&B roots had always been proudly on display, but with the explosion of FM radio, bigger live venues, and the establishment of a renowned studio (Ardent), the city seemed to be providing it's home grown musicians with an opportunity to set the world on fire. None of these possibilities were lost on Target, a cabal of tough rockers keen to stamp their identity on the local scene and beyond. Riding a wave of creativity and seeking to maximize their already solid reputation as a band to watch, Target took the recording of this, their second album, with an impressive sense of purpose.

Survivor's Greatest Hits, a bare-bones, ten-song collection, was released in 1989 and quickly disappeared – vanished, out of print. It was later replaced by an identically titled 12-song collection in 1993 that is far superior because it includes "American Heartbeat" – the other hit from 1982's Eye of the Tiger album – as well as lyrics and basic liner notes. Neither compilation includes any photos, which reinforces the cruel critical notion that this Chicago pop/rock quintet was yet another faceless AOR act. Other U.S.-based bands lumped in this "corporate rock" category included Foreigner, Journey, REO Speedwagon, and Styx.

Frontiers Music Srl is proud to announce the debut album, “We Belong To The Stars”, from Sweden's Ginevra, a new group comprised of vocalist Kristian Fyhr (Seventh Crystal), guitarist Magnus Karlsson (The Ferrymen, Primal Fear), bassist Jimmy Jay (H.E.A.T.), and drummer Magnus Ulfstedt (ex-Eclipse, Nordic Union). Ginevra came to be after Kristian Fyhr sent Serafino Perugino, Frontiers Records President, some songs he had written for consideration to be used on future Frontiers' label projects. One particular song, 'My Rock N' Roll' jumped out at Perugino and he asked Fyhr if he would be interested in fronting a new band that would craft an entire album in a musical direction illustrated in that song, which was substantially different from Fyhr's main band Seventh Crystal. The final results brought Ginevra's sound under the same big umbrella of excellent Nordic melodic hard rock like H.E.A.T, Eclipse, Crowne, and the like, but without necessarily sounding like those bands.

Caught in the Game had Survivor focusing on a harder rock & roll sound, with greater emphasis stemming from the guitar and percussion, but this new formula didn't fare well commercially and the band failed to put any of the album's songs onto the charts. With Frankie Sullivan finally expressing himself with his guitar playing, the album does manage to establish a vibrant and dominant punch through most of the cuts, but because of this, there's a shortage of musical flow and melodic consistency that becomes apparent after the first few tracks. Efforts such as "What Do You Really Think" and "I Never Stopped Loving You" are Survivor's best examples of their straight-ahead rock fair, but they're canceled out by non-abrasive fillers like "Slander" and "Santa Ana Winds," which have the band playing well below their capacity.

The band’s delightful Melodic Rock/AOR sound can best be described as falling somewhere between classic melodic rock, a là Journey, and slightly heavier influences, such as classic era Dokken, White Lion, and Extreme. With phenomenal musical and songwriting abilities and the golden voice of Oliver, Landfall is truly a welcome addition to the melodic rock genre.

Powerhouse American vocalist Toby Hitchcock is one of the most recognizable, powerful, and charismatic voices in the current Melodic Rock/AOR scene. As frontman of Pride of Lions, he has been the voice behind some of the best new classics of the genre, always delivering passionate and outstanding performances. Vocally, he has often been compared to legendary figures like Bobby Kimball (Toto), Jimi Jamison (Survivor), or Lou Gramm (Foreigner), which is an astounding company to be in.
