Body and Soul is an album by Joe Jackson, released in March 1984. The album was Jackson's seventh studio album, and his first fully digital project. Body and Soul is a landmark recording as well, being an early digital recording captured on a 32-track 3M system in New York City's Masonic Lodge. The vast reverberant space of the hall is beautifully drawn, and yet Joe and the band sound positively explosive. Body and Soul is remastered to DSD by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. The results are amazing! Body and Soul has never sounded so fullbodied. In addition to the wonderful ambience of the Masonic Lodge, the imaging is more three-dimensional and holographic than ever.

Mr. Joe Jackson! "What A Racket!" features the work of 19th century Music Hall-era British artist Max Champion – for the first time in nearly 150 years. The album presents eleven of Max Champion’s songs for the first time in more than a century. According to producer Joe Jackson, “These were wonderful songs in their time, but they’re surprisingly modern, too. Sometimes it’s almost as if Max is speaking, from his London of the early 20th century, directly to us in the early 21st."

Amsterdam 1979 is a bootleg CD by Joe Jackson at his prime. It is sourced from the soundboard, recorded on 17 June, 1979 at The Paradiso in Amsterdam, Holland (Netherlands). Release date of this CD is not shown on the packaging so I'm guessing early 2000's.

Body and Soul is Joe Jackson's jazz-infused followup to his 1982 smash Night and Day. It features two of Joe's most cherished compositions, "You Can't Get What You Want (Until You Know What You Want)" and "Be My Number Two."

Joe Turner Though endlessly confused with the singer Big Joe Turner, pianist Joe Turner came from a completely different direction, following the James P. Johnson/Fats Waller stride tradition, armed with a superb technique and a fine sense of swing. Born in Baltimore, he started to learn the piano from his mother at age five and began to make a name for himself in Harlem as a teenager shortly after his move to New York in 1925. He was an accompanist to Adelaide Hall in a duo, first with Alex Hill and then Francis Carter, the latter with whom he and Hall toured Europe in 1931. He remained in Europe through 1939 when war broke out, upon which he returned to the U.S. to work as a singer. After playing with Sy Oliver's army band in 1944-1945 and Rex Stewart in 1946, Turner returned to the continent, residing in Hungary in 1948 and then Switzerland from 1949 to 1962. He settled in Paris in 1962 in a residency at La Calvados, continued to play engagements elsewhere in Europe and occasionally the U.S., and eventually survived to became the last major active stride pianist of his era. Among his few available albums is a 1984 project with Knocky Parker and his Houserockers on Southland.

One of three best-selling albums recorded by pianist Joe Sample in the late 1970s and early 1980s, this diverse collection of smooth jazz-pop includes vocal numbers by Flora Purim and other singers as well as the final track, an acoustic song entitled "Sonata In Solitude". Sample composed the entire album himself except for one collaboration with lyricist Will Jennings.
