Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the giant screen documentary Blue Whales – Return of the Giants. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Steven Price (Gravity, Last Night in Soho, Our Planet, Fury, Baby Driver, Over the Moon, The Aeronauts). Sicario: Day of the Soldado is the sequel to the globally successful film, Sicario, which earned composer, Johann Johannson an Oscar nomination for Best Score. “Soldado” is composed by Hildur Gudnadottir, a collaborator on the Sicario score, and a well-respected classically trained cello player who has recorded as a solo artist and collaborated with The Knife, Animal Collective, Hauschka, and Fever Ray. The film stars Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin.

WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack for the fantasy adventure Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nitin Sawhney (The Namesake, Breathe, Lila Says). Also included is the original end credits song Changes written by Sawhney and performed by Kara Marni. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 30 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle is directed by Andy Serkis and stars Rohan Chand, Matthew Rhys & Freida Pinto and also features the voice talent of Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hollander, Peter Mullan, Naomie Harris, Eddie Marsan and Jack Reynor. The movie follows an orphaned boy raised by animals in the jungle seizes his destiny while confronting a dangerous enemy – and his own human origins. The Warner Bros. Pictures production is being released in select theaters today and will be be available to stream exclusively on Netflix on December 7.

John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, X-Men: The Last Stand) has revealed the full details of the soundtrack album for the adventure drama The Call of the Wild. The album features the film’s original music written by the Academy Award-nominated composer. The Call of the Wild is directed by Chris Sanders and stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodel. The movie is based on Jack London’s classic novel and tells the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. The drama will be released in theaters nationwide on February 21 by 20th Century Studios.

La-La Land Records, Royal Road Entertainment and Netflix proudly present three-time Academy Award-winning composer Michel Legrand’s (SUMMER OF ’42, THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR, ATLANTIC CITY) musical score to the acclaimed motion picture THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND, starring John Huston and directed by Orson Welles. As producers Frank Marshall and Filip Jan Rymsza painstakingly completed this unfinished Orson Welles film, they came upon a note in the master filmmaker’s diary that indicated, “Call Legrand for the music.”

Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix animated film Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Martian, The Chronicles of Narnia, Man on Fire, Mulan, Kingdom of Heaven) who previously co-scored the 2000 original film with John Powell.

Los Angeles-based English composer John Powell crafts scores for major motion pictures, with a focus on animated films and sci-fi/action movies. Following his first major score for Face/Off, he went on to compose for the Jason Bourne and the Ice Age series. In addition to multiple Saturn, BAFTA, and Annie Award nominations, Powell also received a Grammy nomination in 2008 for his score for the animated penguin flick Happy Feet, and an Oscar nomination in 2011 for his score for How to Train Your Dragon.
