For his new album, Ludwig Güttler has compiled what he considers to be the most beautiful and contemplative Christmas songs. Although a musical Christmas as we know it - with full churches and making music together - will be difficult this year, Güttler's music brings us together in a different, very intimate way. With 36 wonderful Christmas carols and arrangements by Vivaldi, Beethoven, Schmelzer, Liszt and many others, the great trumpeter gives hope for better times and revels in memories of Christmas in his homeland, the Erzgebirge.

A ubiquitous flutist at the beginning of the digital age thanks to her many LPs and CDs for BIS, Gunilla von Bahr saw her recording career wane after her divorce from Robert von Bahr, who ran that label. (…) In the mid-'70s, she began making recordings for BIS. The eclectic collections issued under the title Sun Flute were especially successful, some selling more than 100,000 copies each. (…) She passed away in 2013.
