Au cours de leur existence, les musiciens de Journey ont beaucoup modifié leur approche musicale et varié la composition de leur groupe tout en devenant un groupe très actif en enregistrements et en concerts. L'équipe d'origine enregistre Journey (1975), le premier de trois albums jazz-rock qui se vendent modestement. Mais en 1977, le groupe décide qu'il a besoin d'un chanteur/leader fort et engage Steve Perry. Les résultats ne se font pas attendre : le quatrième album, Infinity (1978) se vend à un million d'exemplaires.

Journey is an American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1973, composed of former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band has gone through several phases; its strongest commercial success occurred between 1978 and 1987 when Steve Perry was lead vocalist. During that period, the band released a series of hit songs, including "Don't Stop Believin'" (1981), which in 2009 became the top-selling track in iTunes history among songs not released in the 21st century. Its parent studio album, Escape, the band's seventh and most successful, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and yielded another of their most popular singles, "Open Arms". Its 1983 follow-up album, Frontiers, was almost as successful in the United States, reaching No. 2 and spawning several successful singles; it broadened the band's appeal in the United Kingdom, where it reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart. Journey enjoyed a successful reunion in the mid-1990s and have since regrouped twice; first with Steve Augeri from 1998-2006, then with Arnel Pineda from 2007 to the present.

Greatest Hits is an excellent, thorough 16-track collection containing all of Journey's big hits, from 1978's "Wheel in the Sky" to 1986's "I'll Be Alright Without You." Although the songs aren't presented in chronological order and a handful of minor hits ("Suzanne," "Walks Like a Lady") aren't included, it doesn't matter, since every essential Journey single – "Only the Young," "Don't Stop Believin'," "Any Way You Want It," "Separate Ways," "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'," "Open Arms," "Send Her My Love" – is here, which means that it's all most casual fans will ever need.

An anthemic arena rock outfit that achieved massive success in the 1970s and '80s, Journey's agreeable blend of melodic hard rock and epic balladry has resulted in 25 gold and platinum-certified albums. The San Francisco-based act's early efforts combined jazz fusion and progressive rock elements. The arrival of vocalist Steve Perry, who made his studio debut on the group's fourth LP, Infinity, heralded the beginning of Journey's ascension to mainstream rock royalty. Between 1978 and 1987, the band notched a string of singles ("Wheel in the Sky," "Any Way You Want It," "Lights," "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'," "Don't Stop Believing," "Open Arms," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)") that have become permanent fixtures in the classic rock radio lexicon. A long hiatus preceded the release of 1996's Trial By Fire, which would serve as Perry's last outing with the group. Since then, Journey has remained a constant endeavor for founding guitarist Neil Schon, who has led the band through two lead singers – Steve Augeri from 1998 to 2006 and Arnel Pineda from 2007 until the present – and five more studio albums, including Arrival (2001), Revelation (2008), and Freedom (2022).

Because we know that some songs are felt in different ways, we have deliberately refrained from specific titles as a travel destination. That is why the fifteen songs are simply numbered.
