German violinist Julia Fischer is recognized worldwide for possessing a talent of uncommon ability and as an exceptionally gifted artist, reflected in the numerous awards and effusive reviews she has received for both her live performances and recordings, including being named 'Artist of the Year' at The Gramophone Awards in 2007 and 'Instrumentalist of the Year' at the 2009 MIDEM Classical Awards. PentaTone is pleased to present this collection of her critically acclaimed recordings of Mozart's Violin Concertos, packaged together. The set also includes her recording featuring the Sinfonia concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E flat, K.364.

Pentatone has another winner of Mendelssohn's two piano trios. Their star violinist Julia Fischer is joined by two other major young artists, pianist Jonathan Gilad, and cellist Daniel Müller-Schott in vivid performances of these delightful Mendelssohn works. Wolf Werth and Job Maarse produced this recording which was made in a radio studio in Cologne in February 2006.

For any recording to be successful, both the soloist and orchestra must be riding the wave of Tchaikovsky's exulted imagination. This is achieved wholeheartedly in an impeccable interpretation by Julia Fischer - remarkably only 22 years old at the time - and the Russian National Orchestra. Fischer maintains the rich sonority that is so integral her playing, even under the most relentless technical pressure, whilst conductor Yakov Kreizberg leads the Russian National Orchestra masterfully in what becomes almost a race for expression between orchestra and soloist.

This remarkable album marked the recording debut of German violinist Julia Fischer as well as the beginning of her extraordinary partnership with Russian-born conductor Yakov Kreizberg. Julia Fischer was about twenty-one when she made these recordings, which is all the more astonishing because in each work her interpretive acumen, sense of maturity and all encompassing technique are qualities one associates with a seasoned master of this kind of challenging repertory.
