Kaisa Mäensivu

Bassist Kaisa Mäensivu formed her ensemble Kaisa’s Machine in 2015 and made her debut with the group in 2017 on the tight-knit, imaginative In the Key of K. In the midst of this, in 2016, she moved from her native Finland to New York, and thus began a process of artistic growth and transformation. She earned her master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, studying with the likes of Dave Liebman and Ron Carter. And though she brought new players into her orbit, she kept the Kaisa’s Machine name, landing on Dave Douglas’ prestigious Greenleaf Music label for the follow-up release Taking Shape, her first album as a New Yorker.

Esteemed Finnish jazz guitarist and composer, Kari Antila, is set to release his new album "Dahill Road", weaving a rich tapestry of melodic journeys and rhythmic explorations. With a career that spans over fifteen years, traversing the realms of jazz from Finland to Belgium and New York, Antila has become one of Finland’s most internationally acclaimed jazz guitarists. His previous works have graced numerous significant domestic and international festivals, including the renowned Pori Jazz and the Belgian JazzLab Series.

Adam and Patrick followed a similar pathway in these records as they have in the past for their first and second albums and first single. They began two years ago in the UK in Birmingham and Bristol where they created 62 demos with help from local Bristol Jazz musicians. They selected 12 tracks and took these to the Bunker studio in Brooklyn where Alex recorded additional parts from 5 New York Jazz musicians. The music was brought back to London and mixed in the Premises studios and mastered at Abbey Road and Metropolis studios.
