This LP, recorded for the Italian label Bubble, is probably Keith Emerson's most eclectic, with a sense of humor thrown in as well. The opening medley of Emerson's "Hello Sailor" and George Malcolm's Baroque-flavored "Bach Before the Mast" provides quite a contrast, moving from a subdued sea shantey to furious solo piano, and finally segueing into a full-fledged rocking strut with a Caribbean twist…

There are concessions that must be made on Keith Emerson and Greg Lake’s Live from Manticore Hall, starting with the absence of Carl Palmer - and then the occasional use of loops.
Too, the conversational aspect of the evening certainly works on its first listen, bringing us in with a confidential closeness. (Emerson, in an impish moment, recalls people asking questions about his pre-Emerson Lake and Palmer band: "The Nice what?") But once that context is understood, these lengthy segments quickly become extraneous detours away from what is often a adventurously re-imagined journey through some peak moments for both…

In this album released in the late 80ґs, Goblin has slightly neglected their characteristic jazzy "frenetic" rock to concentrate on the darkest and most symphonic part of their music. By consequence the music is clearly dedicated to Dario Argentoґs movie. The doom, sinister atmosphere is essentialy provided by church organ parts, electronic loops. The result provides a "malefic" synth symphony. "The Church" combines use of curch organ musical sentences and electronic drums, synth rythmical motifs.

On Moscow, the Keith Emerson Band includes ace session guitarist, vocalist, and composer Marc Bonilla (who's toured before with Toy Matinee), bassist Travis Davis, and drummer Tony Pia, who, while currently a member of the Doobie Brothers, has also played with Edgar Winter and Brain Setzer. The program features numerous Emerson, Lake & Palmer nuggets (including a 35-plus-minute "Tarkus"), some brief Emerson originals (film cues from his soundtrack work), a pair of Bonilla pieces, and two co-writes between Bonilla and Emerson. Filmed August, 2008, at Central House of Cinema, Russia…

The dynamic duo of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake (two-thirds of Emerson, Lake and Palmer) went on tour in 2010. Four years later, Live From Manticore Hall captures nine intimate versions of ELP tunes, a little King Crimson, and even a Q&A. The tour would serve as a precursor to Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s 2010 High Voltage reunion in London, speculated to be the final ELP reunion.

This is the album that longtime fans of Keith Emerson have dreamed of. For most of this hourlong CD, Emerson sticks exclusively to grand piano, eschewing the bank of synthesizers (and Hammond organ) that tended at times to distract from his abilities as a keyboardist. Since this CD was produced over a period of time in different locales, the sound varies depending on the conditions under which the recording was made. Emerson's originals include the reflective ballad "Vagrant" (though it has its flashy moments), the gorgeous and somewhat bittersweet "Solitudinous," the jaunty boogie-woogie "A Cajun Alley," "Roll'n Jelly" (a bluesy salute to jazz great Jelly Roll Morton), and a new version of "Barrelhouse Shakedown" (which mixes ragtime and boogie-woogie).

Although progressive rock reached its commercial peak in the '70s, it still enjoys an enthusiastic cult following – and not all of its fans are over 40. These days, the prog rock experience ranges from the classic albums of Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd and King Crimson to all the younger prog rock bands that emerged in the '90s and early 2000s. Today's younger prog rock converts seem to welcome new bands as well as concerts by a veteran like keyboardist Keith Emerson, who is reunited with Brian Davison and Lee Jackson on Vivacitas.

At The Movies is a 3 CD collection of excerpts and pieces from seven films scored by Keith Emerson covering the years 1981 to 2004. Most of this music is very rare and collectable. The set features a rare vocal Emerson performance of Spencer Davis hit, I'm A Man. Music from the 1986 film Best Revenge closes the disc with guest vocals from Boston's Brad Delp on the song Playing for Keeps. Disc two covers three Italian movie scores beginning with the 1980 horror film Inferno directed by Dario Argento. Next up is four pieces from 1988's La Chiesa or The Church directed by Michele Soavi. The disc closes with nine tracks scored for the film Murderock released in 1986. Disc three features the score for 2 Japanese films. Harmageddon was an animated film from 1985. Godzilla Final Wars closes the set with 13 tracks which Emerson scored for this 2004 remake of the classic monster movie.
