Kayla Waters burst on to the contemporary jazz scene with an astounding four #1 Billboard contemporary jazz radio hits. Lovingly mentored by her father, jazz icon Kim Waters, Kayla has been voted the winner of "The Rising Star In Jazz Award" by The Black Women in Jazz and the Arts, and the prestigious Washington DC WAMMIE Award as "The Best Jazz Artist."

Contemporary jazz pianist, composer and writer Kayla Waters, the daughter of famous saxophonist Kim Waters, debuts with her first work Apogee (2017) on Trippin N’ Rhythm Records. Along side of Kayla, Kim was also executive producer for her album. Apogee is another word for the highest point in the development of something, a climax or culmination. For Kayla this album is the first highlight of her musical career.

The son of legendary bluesman Muddy Waters, Mud Morganfield and Fabulous Thunderbird frontman Kim Wilson come together for this tribute release. "For Pops (A tribute To Muddy Waters) represents some of Mud's favorite songs from his father including the iconic "I Just Want To Make Love To You" plus "Blow Wind Blow" and "Just To Be With You"…

On That's Life, Kim Wilson's second solo album, the vocalist/harpist hits on the right formula of Texas roadhouse blues and gritty blues-rock, turning out a uniformly satisfying album. Some of the original songs are a little weak, but the performances are convincing and enjoyable, even if they don't offer a new spin on Texas blues-rock.
