Ferenc Erkel was the father of Hungarian grand opera, as well as an accomplished conductor and pianist. The last of his nine completed operas, István király, is a tale of passionate emotions, love, jealousy, power struggles and murder in which King Stephen, the founder of the Hungarian state and its first Christian ruler, is portrayed as a saint amidst the clash of pagan and Christian worlds. After 125 years of ruinous cuts and alterations to the music and the libretto, this recording is the first to restore the opera to the resoundingly successful form conceived by its composer.

Any journey begins with a single, small step and as such, the newly renamed King Chiefs' journey began as a compact but powerful two-piece band in the Phoenix, Arizona area in 2012. Originally known as simply Chiefs, they play that type of blazing desert rock that can only be forged under the harsh gaze of the Sonoran sun. After releasing a couple early demos and playing numerous show around the Phoenix valley, the band expended it's reach with a series of small regional tours that eventually led to the band relocating to California. Shortly after settling down in San Diego, the band self-released a four song demo titled Buffalo Roam, which found them embarking on numerous tours around the Southwest and West Coast.

Walt Disney Records has announced the official soundtrack album for Jon Favreau’s The Lion King. The album features features new recordings of the original songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice for the 1994 animated classic, the score by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight) who received his first Academy Award for the animated movie, plus African vocal and choir arrangements by Grammy-winning South African producer and composer Lebo M. Also included Pharrell Williams produced five songs on the soundtrack.

WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the monster movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day, Outlander, Colossal). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 24, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to come out on June 7 and is available for pre-order here. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is directed by Mike Dougherty and stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds. The Legendary Pictures production follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. The action adventure will be released in theaters nationwide on May 31 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
