Kirby

is a six-issue limited series collecting the backup stories of the title character as they originally appeared in the 1960's Marvel title . I grew up on Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and I still have some of these old comics, the covers and pages crisscrossed with folds and creases, for we them during those days, unlike now when comic books are encased in acetate and valued not for their content but for whatever price they might bring on eBay. Imho nobody can, or shall ever beat, the tandem of Lee and Kirby in portraying the original Marvel Superheroes in action. Highly recommended.

The synthetic lustre of Memories Live Longer Than Dreams already appeared deliciously cracked and damaged the first time around, and in 2017 its phosphorescent glow remains a beacon of shelter for contemplation and secluded mind-drift, offering a surreal, nostalgic night-light to the gloomy and confused world it diagnosed and predicted nearly ten years ago.

Ronald William "Josh" Kirby (27 November 1928–23 October 2001), is a deceased British commercial artist born in Waterloo, Sefton, Lancashire and educated at the Liverpool City School of Art, where he acquired the nickname Josh.
Kirby painted film-posters, magazine and book covers. Creating a total of over 400 cover paintings, his personal preference was for science fiction jackets (for example see Robert Silverberg's Majipoor novels and Kirby's own Voyage of the Ayeguy) and his work on the covers of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of novels is well known. He also created the poster art for Monty Python's Life of Brian and Return Of The Jedi. He worked almost exclusively in oils.
