Kubo And The Two Strings

Decca Classics will release the official soundtrack album for the fantasy drama The Secret Garden. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Darkest Hours, Kubo and the Two Strings, V for Vendetta, Bumblebee, Anna Karenina). Also included is the end credits song The Secret Garden by AURORA. The Secret Garden is directed by Marc Munden and stars Colin Firth, Julie Walters, Dixie Egerick, Edan Hayhurst, Amir Wilson and Isis Davis. The movie based on the classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett follows a young orphan girl who, after being sent to live with her uncle, discovers a magical garden on the grounds of his estate. The drama was released in the U.S. on VOD last month by STX Entertainment and will receive a theatrical release in several international markets this fall.

Dario Marianelli has been tapped to score the upcoming Transformers spinoff Bumblebee. The film is directed by Travis Knight and stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, Kenneth Choi, Rachel Crow, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Schneider, Ricardo Hoyos, Abby Quinn and Grace Dzienny. The movie is set in 1987 and follows a teenage girl trying to find her place in the world as she discovers Bumblebee refuged in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Christina Hodson (Unforgettable, Shut In) wrote the screenplay. Michael Bay who helmed all the previous Transformers movies (scored by Steve Jablonsky) is producing the project with Knight, Lorenzo di Bonaventura (RED, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and Stephen Davis (Ouija: Origin of Evil). Marianelli has previously collaborated with Knight on LAIKA’s 2016 feature Kubo and the Two Strings. Bumblebee is set to be released on December 21, 2018 by Paramount Pictures.

Carter Burwell has recently recorded his score for the upcoming animated feature Missing Link. The film is written and directed by Chris Butler (ParaNorman) and features the voice talent of Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, Zach Galifianakis, Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Timothy Olyphant, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Ching Valdez-Aran and Amrita Acharia. The movie revolves around the world’s foremost investigator of myths and monsters as he travels to America’s Pacific Northwest to prove the existence of a legendary creature. Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee) is producing the LAIKA production with Arianne Sutner (ParaNorman). Missing Link is set to be released on April 12, 2019 by Annapurna Pictures.
