A way to continue together but also do something fresh. Geffen A/R guru John Kalodner gave them a tape of Robert Berry, a new artist being groomed by Geffen.

Secret Alliance starts as a solo project of the Italian guitarist Gianluca Galli already founder and former of Mantra, Time Machine and Silver Horses to explore the modern and classic heavy rock sound with some progressive influences… and Ricardo Confessori was the right drummer. One of Gianluca’s dream was to involve one of the greatest bassist of the modern rock history, Tony Franklin, and Tony was happy to participate as well. So the Secret Alliance took his form. The perfect voice for this music is Andrea Ranfagni. The songs have all a common line, a classic hard-heavy rock sound with modern progressive influences where the guitar riffs are the columns of the songwriting.

Robby Valentine is a Dutch singer and multi-instrumentalist who started his professional career in the eighties, and is the frontman of his band Valentine. After his professional start as the keyboard player in Dutch symphonic rock band Line, he soon moved on to form the melodic hard rock band 1st Avenue in 1987, together with vocalist Peter Struyk (ex-Vandenberg). This band released two albums when Robby had already left. In 1989 he joined Dutch ‘happy metal’ band Zinatra, which enjoyed great popularity in predominantly Asia and South America, as well as The Netherlands. This band toured independently, and opened up for David Lee Roth and Steve Vai. In 1990, Valentine signed a solo deal and started working on his first album…

Within the last 7 years of his life Johannes Brahms dedicated himself to chamber music and many people would agree that in this period he produced the most profound music in his entire writing career. While at Bad Ischl, his constant encounters with J. Strauss, but also with the great clarinetist Richar Mühlfeld, inspired Brahms to produce such fine examples of the chamber music repertoire known today. The 2 clarinet sonatas, which he also transcribed for the viola, are quite melancholic in comparison with the other clarinet opuses which he wrote just before. Brahms was also deeply saddened by the sudden loss of his great friend and muse Clara Schumann. As they shared wonderful long term artistic and personal relationship, quite possibly they influenced each other in their composing as well.

Gavin Higgins (b. 1983) is one of the most exciting and gifted compositional talents of his generation, described as "boldly imaginative" (Times) and "a talent to watch" (The New York Times). From a long lineage of brass band musicians, Higgins was born in Gloucestershire and grew up in the Forest of Dean. He studied French horn at Chetham’s School of Music and composition at The Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal College of Music. In 2010 he became the inaugural music fellow for the Rambert Dance Company writing a number of daring ballet scores including What Wild Ecstasy (2012) which was shortlisted for a British Composer Award; and the ground-breaking Dark Arteries (2015) which was shortlisted for a Royal Philharmonic Award and a British Composer Award.His work has been commissioned by some of the UK’s leading festivals, including three commissions for the BBC Proms: Der Aufstand (2012), Rough Voices (2020) and the "fast, exciting and brilliantly scored" (Telegraph) Velocity which opened the Last Night of the Proms (2014). In 2019 his first opera, The Monstrous Child, commissioned by the Royal Opera House, opened to critical acclaim, being described as "a triumph" (The Guardian). In 2020 Higgins was appointed Composer-in-Association with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
