When singer/songwriter Lori Lieberman wrote the worldwide hit ‘Killing Me Softly’ in the early 70’s, her life changed forever. She became part of the renowned West Coast scene that also featured artists like The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, John Stewart which led to collaborations with Leonard Cohen amongst others. Her new album ‘The Girl And The Cat’ sees her working with the Matangi Quartet, a Dutch string quartet well known for their groundbreaking collaborations with other musicians, both classical and popular.

Violinist Carol Lieberman has had a distinguished career performing music ranging from the Baroque to modern times. This album, The Art of Carol Lieberman, Volume 2, focuses upon here performances of modern works. Carol Lieberman has been one of the leading exponents of Baroque violin performance for three decades and is equally well known for her performances of 19th and 20th century violin repertoire. She has concertized throughout Europe and North and South America, and frequently performs for radio and television, including Radio Nacional Espana, Belgian Radio, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and National Public Radio. Ms. Lieberman performs as violinist of the Lieberman-Kroll Duo, the Early Music Ensemble of Boston, and is first violinist and founder of the Quartetto Tomasini, a period instrument string quartet.

Lori Lieberman is an American singer-songwriter who accompanies herself on guitar and piano. She first came to public attention in the early 1970s with a series of albums on Capitol Records, one of which featured the first recording of "Killing Me Softly". After a long hiatus, she resumed her recording career in the mid-1990s. "Bricks Against The Glass", her 15th album, features eleven songs composed and arranged by Lori Lieberman.
