Aptly titled, 'The Great Vocalists Of Jazz & Entertainment', culls 748 of the absolute finest recordings by top singers of the pre-rock era of the '30s, '40s & '50s. All recordings are digitally remastered and over 20 top names are featured, including Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne and Perry Como. Each artist has at least one disc devoted to solely to their repertoire; most have two (Billie & Frank deservedly have three apiece). Hou sed in a sealed, full color 5' x 6' x 8' box, it contains 20 double slimline jewelcases.

Another serious project in vein of Time Life Music, the "24 Golden Hits" is a compilation series of the world famous hits, released on CD circa 1987-1988. Here is the complete series packed into five boxes and each box was re-released separately. Each Volume-set contains the five discs and titled as "120 Golden Oldies". 600 "Golden" songs total and over than one day of the continuous listening!

Aside from the Louvins and the Delmores, few other postwar vocal duos had the power and consistently high quality of the brother-in-law team of Johnny Wright and Jack Anglin. They started working together on various Southern radio stations before World War II. The war split them but they reunited afterward with Johnnie's wife Muriel (future legend Kitty Wells) singing in the band. In 1947 they joined the Opry and made their first records for the R & B-oriented Apollo label. This superb collection starts with the beautiful What About You from their first session for RCA in January 1949 and ends with their last Decca recording You'll Never Get A Better Chance Than This from March 1962 , a year before Anglin's tragic 1963 death in a car crash the same day he was to attend Patsy Cline's funeral.

A mere fifteen years after the end of WWI, the World witnessed the rise to power of Adolf Hitler, when he became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. The Second World War is widely accepted to have begun in 1939, when British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain declared that Britain was at war with Germany. Within hours, Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies made the announcement that this country was also at war. As before, music played a great part in the upkeep of morale, for both the public at home and the brave soldiers, sailors and airmen involved in the conflict.
