A pretty teenage girl comes to the rescue of a dying seagull in Last Summer. Sandy (Barbara Hershey) enlists the help of Peter (Richard Thomas) and Dan (Bruce Davison) to help the bird and remove a fishhook from the gull's throat. The three become friends and they smoke marijuana and swim, discussing their problems about parents and life. Rhoda (Cathy Burns) is the level headed plain looking girl who admonishes the trio for trying to make the injured bird fly. Peter and Dan talk about having sex with Sandy, who engages the shy Rhonda in a game of "truth or dare" as the sassy Sandy removes her bikini top…

The first album released posthumously after jazz legend Freddie Hubbard's passing in 2008, the recordings that make up Without a Song: Live in Europe 1969 actually sat in the Blue Note archives for 40 years. Recorded while Hubbard was touring Europe with producer Sonny Lester's The Jazz Wave on Tour revue, the album features performances culled from three separate nights - two in England and one in Germany. While Hubbard had already released many of his most famous Blue Note solo albums by 1969, in truth the trumpeter had only started leading his own full-time touring band around 1966 after leaving Max Roach's ensemble. In that sense, Without a Song showcases Hubbard in his technical and creative prime as one of the premiere virtuoso jazz trumpeters of his generation…

Bread is the self-titled debut album by soft rock band Bread, released in 1969. Bread peaked at #127 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. The re-recorded track "It Don't Matter to Me" was issued as a single after the release of Bread's second album, On the Waters, and the #1 success of "Make It with You" in the summer of 1970. "It Don't Matter to Me" peaked at #2 and #10 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary and Pop Singles charts, respectively. The album's cover, with whimsical depictions of the band members photos on paper currency, refers to contemporary slang equating "bread" to money. Bread was an American soft rock band from Los Angeles, California. They had 13 songs chart on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1970 and 1977.

When David Bowie's second album appeared in late 1969, he was riding high. His first ever hit single, the super-topical "Space Oddity," had scored on the back of the moon landing that summer, and so distinctive an air did it possess that, for a moment, its maker really did seem capable of soaring as high as Major Tom.

In the summer of 1968 after the demise of his last band The Attack, John Du Cann formed Andromeda. For the next year they gigged up and down the UK at clubs,Universities and prestige London venues such as The Round House and The Lyceum. Having caught the eye of the late John Peel Radio One appearances followed. John Du Cann and his colleagues recorded their first album which they presented to their then record company who promptly dropped two tracks (too long for an LP) and remixed it as the original was considered “too heavy”. The band was gutted and John moved onto Atomic Rooster - but that as they say is another story. Now released for the first time ever in its original form, remastered from the original acetates is one of the classic heavy psych, underground albums of the 60’s…
