Mixture of 60's garage rock, surf, porn funk and manic psychedelia, the instrumental madness of The Mutants is a lost soundtrack for Russ Meyer's, Tarantino's and Aki Kaurismäki's films. Impossible to categorize, we call it "afro-garage-mambo".
The Mutants was founded in 1998 by Weijjo a.k.a Abnormal, who wanted to form an instrumental band after getting tired of difficult singers. Members were picked partly from his previous punk band "Isebel's Pain" and from locations that you don´t want to know. The sound of The Mutants has been pretty weird from the first beginning, only to get seriously sicker since. After the first chaotic gigs with the usual rock instrumentation + organ, it needed to sound bigger…

Morceau qu’il interprètera de nombreuses fois malgré les pressions diverses. Autre preuve de son engagement et de sa volonté de faire bouger les mentalités, le Boss donnera un concert de quatre heures à Berlin Est en 1988, enjoignant le peuple à abolir les barrières.

Guitariste soliste du Jefferson Airplane, dont il trouve le nom, Jorma Kaukonen est né à Washington D.C., le 23 décembre 1940, de parents d'origine finlandaise et russe. Il grandit dans différents pays (Pakistan, Philippines), au gré des missions de son père, employé au Département d'Etat. De retour dans son pays natal, il forme son premier groupe, The Triumphs, avec Jack Casady. Passionné de blues, il s'installe à San Francisco en 1962 et joue pour Janis Joplin (The Typewriter Tapes), avant d'être engagé par Paul Kantner au sein du Jefferson Airplane.
