Bossa Nova translated as the "new beat" or "the new style", grew out of Rio De Janeiro in 1958. The instigators were a handful of artists with a desire to break from tradition, developing the samba rhythms with the influence of cool American jazz to find a music with such a warm soul and natural rhythm that no-one can help but tap and sway to its beat. Bossa Nova is palm trees swaying, it is like melting sugar in hot coffee, it is the setting sun and warm sand underfoot. It is the sound and beat of Brazil, it is one of the world's coolest musical styles and it remains to this day one of the world's great musical treasures.

The Story of Bossa Nova features 20 remastered original recordings from the late '50s/early '60s combined with a few modern interpretations of the genre, including 14 tracks written by composer Antonio Carlos Jobim. Taken from the vast EMI-Odeon archive of classic Brazilian music, this introductory set includes Marcos Valle's "Samba De Verao," Sylvia Telles' "Dindi," and the pre-Astrud Gilberto version of "Girl From Ipanema" by Pery Ribeiro.

One of the great names of Brazilian Popular Music, Roberto Menescal turns 85. To celebrate the brand, the album “Nós e o Mar” hits the market on all platforms. The repertoire brings hits by the composer and was conceived with six hands. In addition to the master of bossa nova, pianist Diogo Monzo and multi-instrumentalist and producer Ricardo Bacelar also sign the project. The album features singer Leila Pinheiro, guest of the trio on the version of “Bye Bye Brasil” (Menescal/Chico Buarque). “Us and the Sea” was recorded in Fortaleza. It is yet another gem produced and released by the Jasmin studio and label. The trio was joined by musicians Nelio Costa (bass) and Pantico Rocha (drums).

Karin Hammar nasceu na Suécia, mas a música a levou para todas as partes do mundo. Já tocou em diversos países seja em trabalhos autorais ou acompanhando nomes de peso como Kenny Werner, Nils Landgren, Ivan Lins entre outros. Na sua terra natal Karin conheceu Nelson Faria, quando ele morou por lá, e agora - num misto de férias e viagem de trabalho tão típico da vida de músico - ela veio ao Brasil e aproveitou para tomar um café com a gente e, claro, tocar algumas músicas de que ela tanto curte do nosso repertório! A música apareceu para Karin desde muito cedo. Na Suécia ela foi introduzida primeiro ao canto, depois seguiu-se o piano clássico e, por fim, voltou os olhos e os ouvidos para o trombone! De início também voltado para o clássico, mas Karin encontrou de ouvido sua veia jazzística em paralelo. Ela nos contou sobre toda essa experiência, sua entrada no Conservatório de Jazz, seu amor pela Bossa Nova, por Tom Jobim e por Elis Regina e Milton "Bituca" Nascimento e muito mais! E, como não pode deixar de ser, nos presenteou tocando com o Nelson algumas canções de arrepiar!
