In Jephte by Michel Pignolet de Monteclair, Gyorgy Vashegyi directs - with style and energy - another riveting account of a neglected French Baroque opera. The work, based on the Biblical tale of a conquering general obliged, by a sacred vow, to sacrifice his own kin, became an immediate success in 1732, indeed a fixture in opera life in France, receiving over a hundred performances at the Opera alone in the three decades following its premiere. Monteclair and his librettist Pellegrin were open to preparing revised versions of the opera and it is the third and conclusive edition which has been worked on by the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and recorded by Vashegyi and his musicians. The central and demanding role of Iphise here is taken by Chantal Santon Jeffery, who is joined by Tassis Christoyannis as the unfortunate but successful-in-war title character, Judith van Wanroij as the bewildered but resolute mother and Thomas Dolie as the relayer of divine messages, Phinee. There is an imaginative and individual flair to Monteclair's music, nurtured by his extensive orchestral pit experience at the Paris Opera - and Jephte is a work of his maturity.

Au sujet de cette jeune artiste réunionnaise, il y a d’abord eu une rumeur d’excellence, propagée par quelques habitants de son île, dont son producteur et homme de confiance Philippe Conrath, artisan du destin professionnel de son presque homonyme Waro Danyel, artiste gigantesque de cette province française. Il y eut aussi un concert discret sur Paris fin 2017 où l’on put découvrir cette mutine chanteuse habitée.

Le 1er décembre 2019 le nom de Johnny Hallyday brillera à nouveau sur le fronton de l'Olympia. After the great success that Il Trovatore received in Paris, Verdi was proposed to compose a French version of the opera to suit the tastes of the local public. The original work, based on the Spanish play El trovador by Antonio García Gutiérrez, had a libretto by Cammarano, which was translated into French by Émilien Pacini . Le Trouvère was first staged in Brussels in 1856 and premiered at the Paris Opera in 1857. In this new version the composer added some music in act 3 for the gypsie ballet scene, extended the finale of act 4 and made several other revisions.

"A great conductor," Gramophone Magazine hailed the first album by Emmanuelle Haïm and Le Concert dʼAstrée back in 2002. In November 2021, the conductor now celebrated the 20th anniversary of her ensemble with two charity concerts in Berlin and Paris. The two anniversary concerts with excerpts from baroque operas by Handel, Rameau, Purcell, Vivaldi and Campra now appear as a live recording on the album "20 ans - Une nouvelle fête Baroque!"
