Follow-up volumes appeared in 1993 and 1996, extending the time period to 1979 and with additional songs from the 1972-76 period, available on cassette or CD (ALL 25 volumes were issued in both formats). Each volume has twelve songs. Despite the greater capacity of compact discs, the running time of each of the volumes is no longer than the limit of vinyl records in the 1970s, from 38 to 45 minutes long.

Razormaid Records was formed in the mid-80s by Joseph Watt and Art Maharg in San Francisco, California as a music service for club DJs. Their goal was to offer something other than just the regular versions of the pieces of music that everyone had. They created their own special versions of songs, editing and occasionally remixing the hottest club tunes being played (or about to be played) around the world.

The Rolling Stones’ 1981 tour was the biggest rock and roll event of the year. The size of the production, the length and the pubulicity surrounding it were unprecedented.
