Born on the 9th November 1989, Sofia Portanet entered this world kicking down walls - now kicking new walls and barriers, Sofia has reinvented Neue Deutsche Welle for a new generation.

The word that jumps to mind when hearing Sofía Valdés’s music for the first time is “yearning”. The Panamanian songwriter makes pop music as a means of meditation–a way of navigating the world around her.

The Resonant Bodies festival, founded and directed by mezzo-soprano Lucy Dhegrae, ran for three nights of performances in a row at downtown Brooklyn's Roulette Intermedium each year from 2013-19. The broad mission of Resonant Bodies was to highlight adventurous vocalists in programs of their choosing. Among the world’s leading violinists, Gidon Kremer has perhaps pursued the most unconventional career. He was born on 27 February 1947 in Riga, Latvia, and began studying at the age of four with his father and grandfather, both distinguished string players. At the age of seven, he enrolled as a student at Riga Music School where he made rapid progress, and at sixteen he was awarded the First Prize of the Latvian Republic.

Kjell Perder is a Swedish composer and has, beside composing, taught composition, music theory and history at the Stockholm Institute of Music Pedagogics, University of Uppsala, Örebro College of Music, among others.

The mezzo-soprano Graziela Valceva Fierro has already performed in about 30 countries on 4 continents. Born in Varna, she studied at the music school "Dobri Hristov" in the class of Zlatka Kuntcheva.
