Adapted from the novel by Vladimir Nabokov (previously filmed by Stanley Kubrick in 1962), Lolita stars Jeremy Irons as Humbert Humbert, a college literature professor. In early adolescence, Humbert fell hopelessly and tragically in love with a girl his own age, and, as he grew into adulthood, he never lost his obsession with "nymphets," teenagers who walk a fine line between being a girl and a woman. While looking for a place to live after securing a new teaching position, he meets Charlotte Haze (Melanie Griffith), a pretentious and annoying woman who seems desperately lonely and is obviously attracted to Humbert. Humbert pays her little mind until he meets her 13-year-old daughter Lolita (Dominique Swain), the image of the girl that Humbert once loved. Humbert moves into the Haze home as a boarder and eventually marries Charlotte in order to be closer to Lolita.

Canciones de amor en Lolita's Club (English: Lolita’s Club) is a 2007 Spanish film written and directed by Vicente Aranda. It stars Eduardo Noriega and Flora Martínez. The plot follows the story of twin brothers, one is a coldhearted violent police officer, the other is a helpless romantic with a mental disability. The two brothers are tragically involved with a prostitute who works in the bordello that gives the film its title. The film was adapted from an eponymous novel written by Juan Marsé.

Silva Screen Records’ 100 Greatest Film Themes, Take 2 continues in the vein of its predecessor by compiling an esoteric collection of movie music that spans generations. From Citizen Kane and West Side Story to Slumdog Millionaire and Avatar, the overview can seem a bit random at times, and the majority of the tracks are recent re-recordings of the source material, resulting in a fairly generic set of film music.

Mafias, prostitution, violence, drugs and money laundering provide the background for the story of Raúl and Valentín, two brothers with very different lives: Raúl is a violent policeman faced with disciplinary proceeding for brutality who is one of the targets of ETA and prostitution mafias. Valentín, his brother, suffers from an intellectual handicap and is in love with one of the prostitutes from the roadside bordello where he works as the general dogsbody. The fate of the two brothers crosses dramatically when Raúl decides to disappear from the police for a while and goes back to visit his family. But life is unpredictable and there is a terrible shock in store for both of them.
