Per Maverick la scelta è stata automatica: suo padre era il capo dei King Lords prima di entrare in carcere e lui ne ha seguito le orme, per tutti è Li'l Don, il piccolo Don. Per lui i King Lords sono una grande famiglia guidata da suo cugino Dre e le cose tutto sommato non gli vanno male, tra la scuola, gli amici e qualche lavoretto per la sua gang, mentre sua madre tenta di convincerlo a fare qualcosa di utile per il suo futuro. A monumental innovator, icon, and maverick, trumpeter Miles Davis helped define the course of jazz as well as popular culture in the 20th century, bridging the gap between bebop, modal music, funk, and fusion. Throughout most of his 50-year career, Davis played the trumpet in a lyrical, introspective style, often employing a stemless Harmon mute to make his sound more personal and intimate. Out of the Blue captures the turbulence of youth culture of the early '80s by presenting a three-person nuclear family that is about to implode. In a prologue, Don Barnes (Dennis Hopper), a school bus driver, is drunkenly distracted one day behind the wheel, resulting in a horrible accident. He comes home from a stint in prison to find his wife, Kathy (Sharon Farrell), hooked on drugs and his now-teenaged daughter, Cindy (Linda Manz), sullen and remote. Don's old buddies are a fun-loving bunch who work only to afford to get high and party, and he seems to be falling back into his old ways instead of getting straight and pulling his family out of their funk…..

"The Owl Service" è una fiaba del 1967 di Alan Garner che parla di una donna nata dai fiori e creata da un mago. Da questa novella molto nota in Galles ha preso il nome del suo gruppo Steven Collins, amante spassionato di film e televisione britannica oltre che cultore incredibile del magico suono del folk revival inglese. Esordisce con un disco splendido quale "A garland of song" (2007) seguito da "The View From a Hill" (2010), altro gioiellino, per proseguire con svariati eps e progetti paralleli che lo vedono sempre coinvolto in prima persona o in tandem con leggende del folk d'Albione quali Alison O'Donnell nel mini disco "The fabric of folk", lei è una delle voci dei Mellow Candle, un favoloso album per la Deram a nome "Swaddling Songs" (1972). Questi due dischi si rifanno alle ballads ed ai traditionals di terra d'Inghilterra, pesantemente omaggiate nei settanta da bands storiche quali la santa trinità formata da Fairport Convention, Pentangle e Steeleye Span e da tutti i gruppi minori, in teoria, del cosiddetto sottobosco musicale.
